1. Flow patterns. People should be able to go around your bar with ease even if it's packed with people. Confusing walkways and narrow paths are a major turn off.

An efficient flow pattern is also important because it ensures good service from the staff. Your crew will be able to bring food and drinks to tables much faster if there are no hurdles on the way. Make sure the walkways are sufficient between the pieces of furniture.

2. Distance between furniture. For bar chairs, there must be at least 18 inches of space in between to avoid customers from bumping into each other. As with bar stools, they should be at least 12 inches away from the counter and 30 inches away from each other. The latter measurement should be measured starting from the center point of the stool to the next.

3. Keep it simple. The number of chairs and tables should be sufficient to ensure customer's comfort. But keep it down when it comes to other pieces of furniture like ornaments since it is a lot easier to layout a place with fewer things on it. Invest on quality rather than quantity. An exquisite sculpture that will complement with the theme of your bar will be more appreciated than a dozen pieces of ornaments that are not pleasing to the eyes.
