Barack Hussein Obama

Remember that scene from the movie Spartacus when the Roman soldiers come to get Spartacus to execute him in some kind of really nasty way, but his compatriots stand in solidarity with him, and take on his name as a badge of defiance? "I am Spartacus," each one says, obviously a lie.

The name Barack Hussein Obama is kind of like that, but for the 2008 presidential campaign.

The Republicans try to attack Barack Obama using his own middle name, Hussein, as if a middle name is something to be ashamed of, as if only people of certain ethnic backgrounds will be allowed to become President of the United States.

Stand against this bigotry. No matter what your real middle name, you can stand alongside the Democratic candidate for President and say, "My middle name is Hussein too!"
