In the the almost three years hes been President, the country instead of heading Obama's call to non-partisanship has become even more partisan. Red states seemly have grown redder and the blue ones even a deeper shade of blue.
The partisan divide has become as deep and wide as the Grand Canyon. Obama himself after making efforts to reach across the divine has retreated to his base as he prepares for an election for a possible second term.
Now he is the President of the United States. This lens will document his time of leadership.

There is not a liberal America and a conservative America. There is the United States of America. There is not a Black America and a White America, a Latino America, an Asian America, there's the United States of America.
The pundits like to slice and dice our country into "red" states and "blue" states. Red states for Republicans, blue states for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too...
We worship an awesome God in the blue states. And we don't like federal agents poking around in our libraries in the red states. We coach Little League in the blue states, and yes, we've got some gay friends in the red states. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq, and there are patriots who supported the war in Iraq.
We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the Stars and Stripes, all of us defending the United States of America.

- Hi there! I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that California's legalized same-sex marriage is at risk. There's a referendum on the November ballot to block it, so we have to be sure to VOTE NO on 8, VOTE NO on HATE! If you live in or have friends or family who live in California, please get them registered to vote! We must not lose this one, otherwise same-sex marriage in other states will surely fail.
I know Barak has said he's against same sex marriage, but I feel that he can change his mind. He has the wisdom to realize that civil rights are for all, not some.
