Barbeques
We review how to choose the right type of barbeque (charcoal or gas) and how to buy one that's right for you.
It's a Win!
Whether you select a gas or charcoal BBQ, you can't lose either way! Get ready for delightful meals and get-togethers, with scrumptious and healthy grilled food.
Charcoal or Gas?
How to Choose
Whether to use a charcoal or gas barbeque is somewhat of a personal decision, but there are some guidelines.
Like to go minimalist, natural, make your own fire, grill over hot coals the old-fashioned way? Don't want to worry about empty gas cylinders, but don't mind charcoal? Then a charcoal BBQ is probably for you.
Like the convenience of easy lighting and precise fire control? A gas BBQ may be your ticket.
The bottom line? Studies show there's not much difference tastewise, so choose your grill type based on personal preference. Additional factors include available space (more is needed for charcoal - don't want to burn down your house) and cost (gas costs more initially but is cheaper to use in the long run).
Either way you go, they're both great choices. Bon appetit!

What to Look For in a Grill
Buying points
When shopping for grills, look for a baked-on finish rather than a sprayed on one, especially if it will be stored outside.
Welded joints on the grill and cart hold up better than bolted ones and are less liable to rust.
Cooking grates of stainless steel or plated with nickel or enamel will clean more easily and resist rust.
For a gas grill, cooking power isn't necessarily related to BTUs - the volume of gas it burns. Often more effective are evenly spaced burners (at least two) with no hot/cold spots between them.
