Barbie and Barbie Playhouses have sparked and fueled the imagination of young people for many years. Barbie has graced the homes of children since 1959.

The playhouses, which began as "Dream Houses" were foldable, cardboard houses which were quite advanced considering it was the 1960s. The original folded into a rectangle with a handle on top which could then be carried like a suitcase. It was quite large, but light --and girls everywhere wanted a Barbie Dreamhouse. Today, they come in a variety of sizes and styles, and are very reasonably priced.
