Bariatric Medical Equipment for the Home or Hospital
Providing healthcare to people with obesity means giving them added mobility in the most comfortable manner while guaranteeing their safety. Specially-designed chairs and beds allow severely overweight people a certain level of comfort and protecting them from possible injuries because of their weight. Bariatric wheelchairs and stretchers are most useful for caregivers and medical personnel in moving obese patients safely and more efficiently.
Bariatric medical equipment such as bariatric recliners are intended to hold overweight people. These are noticeably wider than standard equipment, and provided with durable padding both on the seat and backrest that can withstand heavy weight. A standard bariatric recliner has a load capacity of 400 pounds but various weight capacity alternatives are obtainable.

General Bariatric Medical Equipment
Another specially-designed medical equipment is the extra-wide examination table, which is particularly useful when doing examinations on obese patients. This type of table is usually installed securely to the floor and wall to eliminate the risks of tilting and falling. Special-size gowns should also be made available for use by overweight patients to maintain the dignity and comfort of the users.
The prevalence of obesity has resulted in the emergence of a wider assortment of bariatric medical equipment and made available today. The bariatric commode, for example, is designed to be more convenient for overweight people to use than the standard toilet. Bariatric commodes can usually hold weights from 400 to 650 pounds, other models can carry more.
A typical bariatric commode is of powder-coated, sturdy steel tubing construction intended to carry heavy weights. Some models come with padded armrests that can be dropped, and backrests than can be reclined, all designed to ensure the users' comfort and ease in mobility. Bariatric commodes include a commode bucket with its cover as well as a splash guard.
As blood pressure checks are vital in caring for obese patients, blood pressure monitors with large cuffs are designed to accommodate bigger-sized arms. This kind of equipment is necessary to provide accurate blood pressure readings since standard cuffs are too small for obese patients and, therefore, unreliable for the purpose.

- Your article rings so true! Many obese people also suffer from limited mobility related to being severely overweight (and having additional medical issues). This can lead to social isolation and dependency. But heavy-duty power wheelchairs made for bariatric individuals who have impaired motor functioning and weakened upper bodies can help bariatric persons live fuller lives. - Great lens. Most weighing scales only go up to 300 lb limit. Hospital beds need a bariatric bed as well. It's nice to read a lens like this so people will be aware with what obese individuals need.
