Barney The Dinosaur is the main character of the show. He has become a global icon, as kids from around the world are able recognize him. In the show, Barney is made alive through children's imagination. He is a cute and adorable purple and green Tyrannosaurus Rex.His main theme song is "Barney is a Dinosaur," but his most favorite favorite song in the world is "I Love You." Oddly enough, Barney's favorite food is peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a glass of milk.

B.J. is a 7 year old yellow protoceratops and is seen wearing a red baseball cap and red sneakers.Pickles are his favorite food and because of that, he actually has had them in different ways like pickles (also with pepperoni, peppers, pineapple and peanut butter) on a pizza (in the episode Barney's Adventure Bus). He is Baby Bop's older brother.
Riff Toys
Riff is the orange hadrosaur. He is 6 years old and is Baby Bop and B.J.'s cousin.Aside from being orange, he wears green sneakers and has a theme song "I Hear Music Everywhere." Riff loves music and it's in almost everything he does.
Riff also likes to invent things; he created a four-sound smoke detector. Lastly, Riff even likes marching bands and parades as much as Barney does.
