- I love your story about Baryshnikov, and I've always loved him. He came here to find freedom to dance with his heart, and he has certainly succeeded. I think he's a beautiful man. Thanks for sharing your story...it was beautiful too.

- I had fantasy meetings with John Lennon. I would imagine that I would pass him on the sidewalk on my lunch break from my 9-6 job. We would say hi and bye because we were both very busy.

- When Kim reviews a lens, it is always worth a read. But then, whatever you write is always worth a read, Diane. :) I was enchanted by this story. I've come into contact with a few celebrities, not sure who the most famous of them would be, but I can only imagine the thrill of coming so close to such a huge ballet star.

- Great lens. I enjoyed the progression from reality to fantasy -- very creative presentation. LOVE Baryshnikov (including his role on Sex and the City). It was a pleasure to watch the dance scenes from White Nights. I think I need to watch it again -- it's been a long time since I've seen it. Thanks for the reminder.

- As I was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa, I loved your story all the more. I first saw "Misha" dance in October 1975 in Giselle with Gelsey Kirkland at the Kennedy Center, and it was love at first sight (me for Misha!). I've been trying to see him as much as I can ever since. I was in the audience for the Wolf Trap performances in 1976. I saw the world premiere of "Push Comes to Shove" in January 1976 in New York. I was at the world premiere of his Don Quixote at the Kennedy Center in March 1978. etc., etc. I shall always treasure those memories. Over my desk after all these years is a frame with his autograph on a program from "Push Comes to Shove" in December 1976.
I think it's perfectly all right to be obsessed with someone with such great talent, who has worked so hard to make the most of it. He is an inspiration to all of us mere mortals to make the most of whatever slight "talent" we might have in life. He is not "famous for being famous," like so many today. He deserves all the accolades bestowed on him over the decades, and I am just grateful that I am of an age (and location) that I could see him perform over so many years.

- Ah, what a a treat to see a celebrity that you've long admired. I once shared an elevator with the White Snake rock band, but didn't even know who they were. Found out later, but it was wasted on me.

- I saw Misha dance this past September in Maui, Hawaii. He is now 62 years old but he is still so beautiful with perfect lines and technique (and a great booty too!) I was sitting in the loge so close I could see him sweat. Sadly, he no longer dances much ballet, mostly post-modern dance which is very minimalistic, but still very beautiful. Some people are quite disappointed with it, still expecting him to leap 10 feet into the air! But to really appreciate the genius of his current work you must adjust your thinking and look at him with new eyes and try to understand the creative process behind the work. It's more about portraying as much emotion as possible in the least amount of movement which he does phenomenally well. To see a current work, go to youtube and search for "Baryshnikov-Years Later" (by Simola) This is a beautiful short film that every Baryshnikov fan who wants to really understand his progression as an artist should see. And grannysage, I have a vivid imagination, too!

- I always enjoyed his dancing even though I am not a ballet fan. I loved "White Nights" so much, that when I left the movie theater I felt like dancing. It was the last movie that I went to with my mother, who passed away a few years later. I'm sure it would make me cry if I watched it again.

- Wow, as a native Iowan, where I too thought that Des Moines was the 'big city' I am still amazed that people vacationed here. However, I am glad that you saw HIM! 5* for a really great lens!

- I was five years old when Baryshnikov defected to Canada. I first heard of him through his marriage to Jessica Lange (on my top list of best female actors in the world) -- they've been divorced a long time. I wasn't exposed to his dancing until decades later in White Nights (which I also loved). After that he was one of my favorite dancers / choreographers. I still have clippings somewhere in this house. He's beautiful and although he doesn't dance as much he is still a beautiful dancer. I wish I could have seen him perform live at the height of his career. I'm sure I would have cried.

- Okay, this is now one of my favorite lenses ever! It not only has a great title, it reads like a movie script. I have never been obsessed with Misha, although he is pretty adorable. Right now, I would say my crush is on Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty. Thanks for sharing your story.

- I really enjoyed this lens. I am fascinated by ballet, but never was able to get very far with lessons because my mom got tired of transporting me. What attracts me to lenses is a lot of original content, and that's what this lens has. Five stars from me.
