No matter what degree of understanding you have of the game, learning baseball trivia is very easy. The questions never change. The only thing that changes are the players and the records that are broken.
There are many ways to become more adept at answering trivia questions as they come up. One way is to simply follow the sport for a season. All throughout the season commentators are throwing trivia questions out there for the audience to answer. After a brief time period they give the answers. This is a great way to keep your mind engaged by learning fun facts on the fly versus institutional learning; having baseball taught to you.
Learning the game from historic books is another great way to learn baseball. Since baseball is America's sport, you can see the importance the foundation of the game has on modern day play. If there is any sport out there with history and tradition it is baseball. Just take players such as Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, and Willie Mays for example. Everyone, even people who do not follow baseball know these names. Look at the transformation baseball took as black players began to be allowed to play the game. Baseball went through the same types of growths as society.
Start buying trading cards. Trading cards are almost as popular as the game of baseball itself. Some cards even have fun fact cards in each pack. This is a great way to learn trivia and form a hobby. Each player's card includes season and yearly stats about the players.
Learning America's favorite past time is really fun. You can find yourself deep in history, or inside the current stats of Today's most influential players. Either way, you will have a deeper appreciation for the sport and the ability to share your wisdom with others.
Readers: what do you think?
I think baseball will make a resurgence if a hard salary cap is put in place to balance the teams a little more. Every year the NFL seems to be more and more competitive in my opinion.
