Baseball and Swagger? YES

Baseball is 90 % mental and 10% physical. But in that 90% mental part one of the key components is confidence. You need confidence everywhere, even in the dug out. Confidence builds respect of your team mates and respect of the general public. I can tell you I did not get to the collegiate level having no confidence. At times I was even a bit cocky, but you will never be the best until you convince your self your the best. The best way to do that is look "good". At a lot of college recruiting showcases that I have attended the kids that walk in that look like ball players get the most looks. I'm talking REALLY good, sweet pair of Oakleys, couple Phitens on the neck, open bottom pants, arm sleeve, clean cleats, maybe a little eye black, nice glove, an "I get sh*t done" attitude and bat that looks like its from the future. Now some may call this kid a "tool" NO this kid projects confidence! What do scouts and coaches look for CONFIDENCE. Now some may say this is some "rich snotty brat" and his daddy buys him all the gear. WAIT! This kid may have his own job work hard and surf the web trying to find great deals on today's hottest gear. I can tell you right now the only thing my Dad bought me was my arm sleeve (birthday present). Check out the video below at a kid named Bryce Harper who just happens to be the top prospect in the nation. Take a look at him, what do you see? I'll tell you, you see confidence, swagger and a belief that he is the best player out there. Now he might be the best player in his age group right now, but how do you think he got there, I can tell you it wasn't from being quite and timid and showing up to baseball practice in ripped up socks and dirty t shirt. Check out that video, then read on and check out some of the deals I hand select! THE OVERVIEW

Now you are ready to get swagged out, and still be able to afford the McDonalds Dollar Menu afterward. No, I will never feature the dreaded $400 bat on this website, breathe!!!! Ok so lets work from head to toe.

HAT- I recommend a flat brim, or one with a slight bend.

EYE BLACK- If its a sunny day in the summer and your NOT a pitcher, go for it. Don't be a tool and wear it when its cloudy. No you can go cray and do the Bryce Harper War Point, but I personally am one to go solid lines below the eyes maybe drag it down a little if I am feeling reckless.

NECK- Phiten's baby, these will up your swag! Wear one to be classy or two or three. Ive seen guys do 5 all linked up together. It is total preference also Brett Bros Necklaces are identical to Phiten's and are cheaper check them out

TORSO- Got to start with the under shirt this is going to depend on the weather if its a bit nippy bust out the Under Armour Cold Gear. But if the weather nice you can go with just a regular dri fit T-Shirt or rock my favorite the 3/4 sleeve baseball shirt. Next is your uniform don't have much control over that. I'd say leave 1-2 butttons undone and tuck it in cleanly.

ARMS- Arm Sleeves baby, I recommend the phiten arm sleave (bryce is wearing it in the video above) but there are all sorts just make sure not to get a basketball shooting sleeve. Ok so your not an arm sleeve guy? Wristbands then, this depends on your position though, outfielders do what ever you want, Middle infielders I am a big fan of the double wrist bad 1inch'er on both wrists. Corner infielders you should be rocking the 3 inch wrist bands (really thick ones) Usually only just one though on your glove side.

PANTS- We already talked about this but OPEN BOTTOMS make sure they get all the way to cover some of your cleats. Don't hook them on the back cleat like Derrick Lee because that is just strange and messes with your flexibility on the field. Make sure you got some room in them but not C.C Sabathia baggy, you don't want people to think your obese! If you want to know what the perfect fit looks like check out Bryce Harper in that video above

SOCKS- This is all preference technically coaches will want you to wear the long baseball socks that are a real pain to get on. Wear them if you slide a lot and have tendencies to get cleated. But lets say your just pitching or hitting or your not Ricky Henderson on the base paths, if your pants are long and baggy enough wear any socks that are comfortable. Your main concern has to be when you lift your leg (for example pitching) does your ankle show. If it does bust out the long socks. But most cases it will not.

CLEATS- Personally I love white cleats. CLEAN white cleats. But lets say your team is on the road alot and your wearing grey's. White cleats and grey uniform's NO. I recommend going with the Nike Huarache's, Griffey's new line is pretty sweet or the Jeter's. I have always loved Nike cleats. But really it is preferance to what feels good. Remember your going to have to play in them.

SO ITS FREEZING OUTSIDE AND ITS YOUR OFF DAY- Majestic jackets and pull overs do the trick. Also get a sweet pair of sports gloves for the bench batting gloves are commonly used but not that warm. i actually picked up a pair of these under armour gloves...best purchase I have ever made. Knit hats are a preference.

Rolling up to the Ball Park

What are you blasting? Country? Hip Hop?

Personally I am a baseball player from the inside out. So yes I am a HUGE country fan. Rolling up to the park you can probably catch me blasting some "These are my people" by Rodney Atkins. Nothing gets me more pumped then a good ole' country boy playing the fiddle. What gets you pumped? Hip Hop? A little Jay Z, Ludacris, Wiz Khalifa? Yes I know about rap too. But you got to find what ever the tune is that gets you pumped and reminds you of America's Past Time (Baseball, you should know that). Music is a huge part of my game, sometimes on the mound I will hum a song the entire inning to keep my rhythm. Baseball is a game of rhythm, music is one of the keys to greatness. I recommend making a pre game playlist to pump on the way to the game and then some real good stuff to get going with your headphones before the game. I have listened to "These are My People" by: Rodney Atkins before every game since Freshman year of High School. Before a game at the sandlot with my buddies, or the state championship all I was hearing was "These are My People."
