Basic Guitar Chords | Top 5 Online Guitar Courses

Coming in at Number 5.....

Unlock The Guitar In One Weekend

With some great Ebooks and some audio, this site does what it says on the tin. There are Basic Guitar Chord guides, and sound files to allow you to hear what they sound like. It's incredibly easy to use, and aimed at those people wanting to fast-track to learning the guitar. But there are certainly more comprehensive courses on the internet, as you will find out below.....this one gets 3 out of 5.

And at Number 4....

Guitar Tutor Pro

This course consists of 5 Ebooks for you to download (it's recommended to print them off too, to make things easier). While this course provides you with much the same as you'd find in a book from Amazon (like those below), you do get bonus software and audio files to listen to as well. It is a shame there are no video files to download like the Jamorama course, but this doesn't detract too much from what is a good value, simple to follow course.

It take you from tuning, to basic guitar chords, through to the more technical stuff like string bending and open tunings.

This course deserves a 3.5 out of 5.

Meanwhile, at Number 3.......

Elmore Music Speed Learning System

The Speed Learning System (available on PC and Mac) is comprehensive and provides you with text and audio to work through. You will be taught songs, tips, theory and how to play lead. There are even some great backing tracks to jam along to. You also get some bonuses, such as a guide to writing your own songs, and a basic guitar chord dictionary, plus lots more.

The whole course is impressively laid out, and broken down into easy to follow chunks.

The price tag may put some people off, but you really do get incredible value for money. Just think what a guitar lesson would cost you normally, and this puts it into perspective.

I'd give this course 4 out of 5.

Number 2 is (only just)......

Team Method Guitar

From the Jamorama Team comes Team Method Guitar (available on PC and Mac) which justifies it's price tag with an indepth comprehensive top-end guitar course, and certainly the most complete I've seen available on the internet. It starts you off as an absolute beginner, and has you at the advanced stage in seemingly no time.

I really can't fault this course - it has huge amounts of video, books, audio and backing tracks for you to play with. The course is massive, spanning over 50 lessons, and is perfect for anyone who is completely serious about learning the guitar inside and out. If this isn't you, then you might want to take a look at the Number 1 product. The only reason I put this at Number 2 is because of the price, but aside from that, this is by far the best course out there. Not to mention the bonus software you get too!

There is a 60 day money back guarantee, should the unthinkable happen, and you're disatissfied with the course. I'd give this 4.9 out of 5.

And at Number 1..............

Jamorama

Available for bothe PC and Mac, this is an incredibly popular guitar lesson online course, and is also my favourite. Jamorama will not leave you disappointed, particularly as it is available for quite a low price.

Jamorama is aimed at the complete beginner, but there are things there for anyone to learn. You have the choice of either having a physical or downloadable version - I'd go for the downloadable version, as you get it quicker, and it's cheaper!

The course consits of over 40 lessons across to downloadable books, and all is written in an easy to undertstand format. Not only that, you've got well over 100 videos to watch too, not to mention the backing tracks to jam along with! Although not quite as advanced or indepth as their other course Team Method Guitar, this course still hits the right notes, and at a good price.

Jamorama has email and forum support options available, and a 60 day money back guarantee should you not like the course.

This incredible value for money course is ideal for any level of guitarist up to intermediate. I'd give it 5 out of 5.

And for those of you needing something more Advanced, you can try this....

Guitar Scale Mastery

The Guitar Scale Mastery is a complete course designed to teach you everything that you need to know about guitar scales and how to use them to improve your your playing.

I hope you have found this page useful in making a decision on what online guitar course to go for. Happy playing!
