Basic Affiliate Marketing: And How To Go From Beginner To Affiliate Champion TODAY!

According to Wikipedia, The Free Encyclopedia:

"Affiliate marketing is a web-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliates marketing efforts."

OK, so what does this mean in plain English?

Basically, you sign up to be an affiliate of a product or service. The product owner then provides you with a special link in which to promote their product. You promote the link, and if someone follows your link and purchases, you are given a commission.

Here's the great part:

Depending on the affiliate program, you can earn anywhere from 5% to 75% of the profits! (Imagine having the opportunity to earn 75% of the profits without having to create the product, set up the sales process or deal with customer service!)

Find a problem and then research to find the BEST SOLUTION to the problem. ONLY recommend the very BEST solution. Don't join any and every affiliate program that offers a solution.

This is how you EARN your affiliate commission. You become an expert in the problem and the solution. Then you pass on this knowledge to others with the same problem and RECOMMEND the solution. If the person ends up buying... you get PAID!

So, as an affiliate your job is to promote the product or service with the intent of helping people finding the solution to their problem... and earning a commission as a result!

So, let's take a look at how affiliate marketers promote their affiliate links...

This is my viewpoint of what most affiliate marketers do (and why they see limited results).

They sign up for an affiliate program, post their link to a blog or a website, maybe purchase some ezine ads, maybe by some pay-per-click ads and maybe send out a mailing (if they have a list).

When they don't see instant results, they decide the affiliate program is no good and move on to the next one.

Then they repeat the process until they have a ton of poorly promoted affiliate links scattered here and there and see sporadic affiliate commissions (if any)!

Resist the temptation to join any and every affiliate program you find and jump from one to the other. Find the BEST solution to the problem and then promote ONLY that product until you start see consistent affiliate income!

Think about it. If you're not willing to spend the time necessary to get your affiliate promotion to work... you must not believe in the product or service you are promoting. Right?
