How to do basic Goth make-up

The best way to start is with clean skin.I recommend a scrub at least once a week.If your skin is too sensitive for a scrub try a nice mud mask instead.So if you have already used your scrub/mask this week...just simply wash your face.Also moisturize(it makes for a better and more even makeup application.)

Ok this is where many people make mistakes.Too many cakey , flakey , greasy ,streaky chalky messes out there.
Know your skin type , dry ,oily , cmbination or sensitive.Next what color is your skin naturally?If you are a goth of color try going one or two shades lighter than your skin tone.Darker skin tones do not always work well with ghost white makeup.

If you plan to go with a white face I recommend going with a trusted brand because there are some very lousy ones out there. Manic Panic and Star Gazer are some good ones.

Be sure your skin is dry and the moisturizer has had time to absorb.If excess moisture is there just pat gently with a towel.
Next I recommend listening to some good music. It always helps me feel relaxed and creative!It can inspire you.
Now for applying the makeup.Use a makeup sponge or clean hands.Apply the foundation to fingertps or sponge .start with a small amount. I like starting just below my eyes on my cheeks.Apply from nose out in toward ears.blend over entire face .don't forget to blend down your neck and jawline.Don't forget your ears and along hairline.also eyelids are often overlooked.Do not cake it on.Despite how it would seem too much can acctually make flaws look 10 times worse.Dab a little extra on spots that need to be concealed just pat it gently to mask flaws.I bet you look beautiful already.

Ok 1st things 1st (please do not shave your eyebrows).If your eyebrows are out of control get them waxed trimmed or tweazed.Friends don't let friends grow unibrows.
The one thing everyone should have is a good eyelash curler.Also a good mascara.I like mabelline Full and Soft , but everyone has a favorite.If you are a guy you may want to skip mascara and just use eyeliner.A powder eyeshadow or eyebrow color to match your hair unless your hair is dyed blond or a wild color the black or brown will work fine.

Ok any color eyeliner will do but I like black.I like the eyeliner that you can just roll up like lipstick no need to sharpen it plus you get a nice even crisp line.You can use liquid but I personnaly like pencil. This is basic so just simply line your entire eye.For guys the eyeliner looks better thicker on the bottom outer corner of the eye. Ladies I find with use nit looks better thicker /wider upper outer corner.
Now simple fill in sparse eyebrows with the shadow.it's like coloring in a coloring book. Use a Q-tip or small makeup brush.
ok now if you want to wear blush.which is great if you face has some roundness.You can use nearly any color but to thin down a round face here is a trick use a skin tone like a powder darker than you foundation must be 2 or 3 shades darker.Now suck in your cheeks and make a fishface.Use a tappered blush brush and starting by your mouth follow just below and in that crease moving toward your ear.Now use a neutral actual blush rose , plums or pinks work well just above on the apple of your cheek. Go easy with it.blend the colors a little.

Now thats done Use a translucent powder to set your makeup.I have not forgotten mascara.You always want to powder before mascara to avoid the clumpy
look.

Now thats done get out the eyelash curler.Pump the curler 2 or 3 times.Now apply mascara.Wow look at those beautiful eyes.If you choose to apply eyeshadow apply way back before the eyeliner.

Now for those lips.If you want a soft natural look Try Dark Kiss lip balm which can be found on ebay and is made by Moonlight Cove .Moonlight cove also has a new one that is nice .I am addicted to the stuff.Ok I know many of you are thinking black but only wear it if it looks good on you.there are many great color of lipstick.deep reds , purples and browns are some great gothy choices.
