Bassador (Basset/Labrador mix)
Zoie is my black lab / basset mix. She's a Bassador or Bassetdor if you prefer. She is a rescue dog. I adopted her when she was six weeks old.
She is very sweet and gets along with everyone.
She looks mostly like a very short black lab.
Typical Characteristics of the Bassador.
The Bassador is a large dog on short legs. They can come in multiple shapes and varieties of coat colors. Usualy 15 -18" in height at the withers andweigh between 50-70 lbs.
Basset Characteristics:
Very short legs usually 8-10"
Front paws turned out slighlty
Longer floppy ears

Tails are long and tapering and stand upright with a curve.
Labrador Characteristics:

Bassadors are somewhat prone to hip and elbow dysplasia. Excessive weight is strongly implicated as a risk factor in the later development of hip dysplasia and diabetes, and also can contribute to general reduced health when older. Arthritis is commonplace in older, overweight Bassadors.
Temperament of the Bassador.
FriendlyVery calm

Especially loyal
Pleasant disposition
Emotional sensitivity
Strong hunting instinct
Respond well to praise and positive attention.
Bassadors are an excellent pet for families with children and other pets.
They use a low, murmuring whine to get attention. They howl or bay rather than bark when they want something. They tend to shed hair throughout the year.
Excellent swimmers. Their coat is relatively waterproof, providing more assistance for swimming. The otter-like tail acts as a rudder for changing directions. Thier webbed toes make them strong swimmers.
