Batnomicon: the Lensography

I'm Miss Bat and welcome to my biographical lens! I guess you really need one when you spend loads of time on Squidoo. It's what the cool kids are up to! Here's where you'll find out more about me and all my lenses.

A lil' bit about me.

Just who the heck am I?

Everyone calls me Bat, except my mom. It's a nickname I've had for so long now it's really stuck. I'm a I'm a thirty-something internet junkie who discovered Squidoo through a good friend of mine and got hooked. I've become rather established here on Squidoo, with quite a niche of SquidBoo Halloween costume lenses. I'm also a Giant 100 Squid and a retired SquidAngel.

I grew up and still live in the fantastic bit of land known as the state of Oregon. Most of my family is here in the Northwest, between Oregon and Washington. I've also done quite a bit of traveling in my lifetime; a major portion of the continental 48, Canada, Alaska, and England. Someday I would like to travel to Japan, Norway, and Australia, as well as get to the East Coast.

Before Squidoo, I already had a background in HTML and Web Design. I fancy myself pretty good with words and I like to write. I also have a certification in Medical Insurance Coding & Billing. Currently I work freelance as a webmaster for a local chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders. I've also tried to make Squidoo a full time "job", with my lenses and SquidAngel responsibilities.

In addition to being an internet junkie, I'm also an entertainment freak. I love film, television, music, and books. I also have a wacky knack for remembering a lot of pop culture and trivia, so a lot of my lenses tend to revolve around these subjects. My condo is crammed with shelves full of books, DVDs, and CDs. Halloween is my favorite holiday (after my birthday of course!) so I really love SquidBoo! I also collect Halloween decor and my favorite critter is (surprise surprise) the humble bat. Someday I hope to make a lens about my collection of bat-related items.

And before you ask, if Eddie Izzard can poke badgers with spoons, I can poke people with a spork. The spork doesn't get enough attention!

Sequels That Shouldn't Have Been Made

Twenty-one years after the release of The Lost Boys, the movie received a direct-to-DVD sequel. Called Lost Boys: The Tribe it was supposed to pick up where the original left off. Unfortunately, it failed in every way possible. This was also joined by a 4-part comic book miniseries called Lost Boys: Reign of Frogs, which was supposed to explain what had happened in the twenty year span. In 2010, Warner Bros continued to anger fans by cashing in again with a second direct-to-DVD sequel, Lost Boys: The Thirst. When's it going to end?
