Yes foods, if you are foodies, there are plenty of traditional Sundanese food to explore and try such as surabi (Sundanese pancake), keripik setan, pisang mollen (banana pastry), mie bakso (meat ball soup), etc, and the list keeps getting longer.

Batagor Bandung

One famous traditional Sundanese food is batagor. It sounds funny but it stands for baso tahu goreng or deep fried fish and tofu dumpling. Basically batagor made of mixtures tapioca and fish paste then deep fried into perfection. Commonly ikan tenggiri or Spanish mackerel is used for making batagor but can be substitute by tuna, shrimps, and other white flesh fishes.

Being invented by Chinese immigrants, batagor is a fried version of siomay (shumai, Chinese dumplings). How to Indonesian enjoy batagor ?. It served with sambal kacang (spicy peanut sauce) and a drizzle of lime juice. The other version is batagor kuah or batagor in a clear broth/soup.
