Ranked #26,510 in Home & Garden, #413,777 overall

Styling YOUR Bathroom

Bathrooms - they are often neglected, but once they are given enough attention, they can come out as stunning as stylish living rooms. In designing however, you could honestly say that a larger bathroom has more potential for style. But does that mean your humble little bathroom has no hope?

By all means 'no!' Even your petite little one can have just as much style. All it really takes is imagination and strategy. With the right know-how, a small bathroom can be just as stunning. Your guests will be in for a 'huge' surprise.

Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall

Alright, you know the story. A bathroom is supposed to have mirrors. It is like a necessity for that place. But when working with a small bathroom, you want a BIG one. But it does sound a bit contrary right? Why should it be big when the bathroom is small? Here is the trick: a large wall mirror would give the illusion of an extension, and thus making your bathroom look twice the size! Nice trick right?

Shelves Over Tables

The next trick is to reduce floor occupiers such as accent tables, cabinets, and stands. But these are necessities so why take them out? Here is an alternative for you: instead of tables and cabinets, you can install shelves and overhead cabinets instead. These will serve the same purpose, but will not take up floor space.

Wall Art Over Floor Decors

Even if your bathroom is small, it does not mean you should neglect it of vanity home decors. But instead of choosing decors that take up floor space such as large ceramic vases and statues, you can go for wall arts instead. It can be a canvass wall art, a framed oval mirror, or even wall hangings and tapestries - these beauties do not occupy floor space at all.

Bright Lighting Fixtures

A bathroom with a warm ambiance coming from a not-so-bright lighting fixture is a nice interior design idea too. But for smaller bathrooms, it will make the place look even smaller. For a bloated effect, you can install bright lighting fixtures instead. White light is also preferred over tinted ones.

Shadows No More

Other things that make bathrooms or any other room look smaller are shadow casts from wall cabinets and overhead shelves. You can get rid of most of these dark areas by installing under cabinet lights beneath shelves and wall cabinets. In fact, you can install it beneath anything that casts a shadow cast.
