Getting Started With Bathroom Floor Plans

Bathroom floor plans are considered to be the starting point of any renovation or remodeling project in the bathroom.

Creating bathroom floor plans for the first time can seem like a really daunting task. There are so many things you need to take into consideration.

Giving your Bathroom a Fresh New Look

Use bathroom floor plans as your starting point

Contrary to what most people think, working on a new bathroom design or a new bathroom floor plan is not that simple. Creating different styles of floor plans and choosing which is best for you bathroom can be extremely complicated.

Redesigning or renovating your bathroom doesn't only include the design or the decorations. It is important that you have a bathroom floor plan made before you start any changes. Basically, bathroom floor plans are the start point in any remodeling or redesigning in your bathroom. You have to take into consideration everything in your bathroom especially the fittings and fixtures because it would me more difficult and costly to make changes once everything has been plumbed in.

Consider your needs

In deciding what changes should be done in your bathroom, consider the bathroom floor plan you have at the moment. Do you really want to change it? Or is the plan okay with you but you needed to make some adjustment or changes?

Even with an upper limit budget, you should still make compromises on your finished bathroom floor plans. Be sure that these compromises are on the style and not practicality. You have to keep in mind that before you buy things, think of your space issues.

Planning your Bathroom

In designing your bathroom plans, make sure that you use a scale paper that is easy to use and accommodate the exact measurements of the bathroom you have in mind. It is important to include all windows, doors, radiators as well as the fitting that may affect the layout of the bathroom.

You must also keep in mind if you plan to move the existing plumbing system, this will be very costly. Moving around a toilet may be easily done in drawing but for real, this will be a major job, so try to keep those things in their current location.

Also, consider the right size of the bathroom and ensure that it is appropriate for the size of your home. When preparing bathroom floor plans, you can achieve full effect if it can be spacious enough to be comfortable yet not too big to be cozy. Think of the positioning of your furnishing as well. For sure, you wouldn't want them placed so close together that they'd seem crowded nor spaced so far apart that your bathroom will appear nearly empty.

The Perfect Balance

By considering the size, the amount of furnishings you have in mind as well as the thought of making your bathroom a "comfort-zone" while you make the bathroom floor plan designs, you'll get that perfect balance as well as the look that your bathroom is specially made for its custom fit.

Once you've made decisions on your bathroom floor plans, it would be up to you to conclude whether you wish to have a professional do the actual work or if you can do it on your own.

Salgre, great lens! I am about to redo my 2 bathrooms and was thinking if there was a way to change the floorplan around. My husband said NO..lol. He would be content as long as it had a simple shower, comode and sink. He's not your decorating/renovation type of guy. Anyway, thank you for the ideas, I'm going to make him read this tonight!

Helpful Tips for Creating Bathroom Floor Plans

When creating bathroom designs, people often make the same mistakes. Here are a few tips that can help you when you are designing your bathroom layout:

Make Sure the Plumbing is Accessible

Nothing is worse than having to rip up your whole bathroom to fix a plumbing problem. Always make sure that the pipes are accessible and you can save yourself a lot of hassle at a later stage.

Leave Enough Room for the Door

You should leave enough space around the door so that it can open all the way. If you have a small bathroom, consider using a door that slides open and closed to save space.
