Bathroom Vanity Furniture-Remodel With Distinction
Bathroom vanity furniture can establish the style and decor of your bath. When renovating a dated bathroom, selecting what to do with the vanity may be the place to start.
When setting your bathroom renovation plan, you have some initial impressions of what you want before any firm plans are made. Deciding what needs changing, or replacing is one of the first steps in a good plan.
Review your reasons for wanting to remodel your bathroom. It may just be well past it's time, or it might not be very functional. Think this through, and make some notes about what needs to be changed, and what can remain and be re-used, saving where you can and still accomplish what you want in the end.
Refinishing your existing vanity may be the thing to do, if it is basically functional and the frame and doors are in good condition. Often, re-staining either in the same color, or moving up to a deeper tone can do wonders. If the countertop is badly worn, replacements are available in a variety of pleasing materials.
However, replacing a badly worn vanity cabinet with bathroom vanity furniture can start your bathroom toward a whole fresh look. These vanity pieces are available in many different styles from very contemporary with clean lines and either stained or painted finishes, to classic Victorian styling with fine detailing and a nostalgic look
Bathroom vanity furniture sometimes comes as a package including the countertop, basin and faucets. But check carefully, as each offering is different. Some are the base furniture piece only, others include a choice of countertops and still others offer basins and sinks.
A whole package may serve your needs very well, but on the other hand, purchasing each piece separately will afford more choice in options. You may want a particular shade of granite that is only offered elsewhere, or you may choose to have a solid countertop and add a vessel sink which is installed differently that a typical basin.
A bathroom vanity furniture piece combined with a vessel sink can give your bath a very distinctive and up to date look. Vessel sinks are available in many materials, styles and colors so finding one to suit your new decor preference will be no problem at all.
Sizing is important when selecting bathroom vanity furniture. Traditional bathroom vanity cabinets were usually fused to other storage pieces in a bath. A vanity furniture piece should stand alone with some free space surrounding it, to best highlight it's distinctive features.

Bathroom Vanity Furniture-Pre-Purchase Tips
What to consider as you comparison shop
The bath has finally earned it's value in a home, as not just a necessary option, but as a place of relaxation with it's own decorative appeal.
Indeed, the bath play a significant role in the sale of a home on the market today. It ranks only second to the kitchen in importance to new home buyers expectations.
And rightly so. Unlike former times in history when the bath was not even worth mention, people today spend a great deal of time on grooming and wish to do it in a pleasant environment. The bath of today is expected to provide more in luxury, such as tubs or showers with special jets that either relax or invigorate, towel warmers, floors that are heated, and quality attractive vanities and lighting.
With all the materials and fixtures available today it is easy to accomplish both good function and attractive style in a bath, creating a space much different than that of both friends and family.
In an average sized bath a vanity often serves as the main focal point, being the first item seen when entering the bath. Making a change to this one area of a bath can give the whole space an updated and fresh look. Indeed, the remaining unchanged fixtures are likely to go un-noticed, and your friend's may think you have a whole new bath.
What to know when choosing a vanity furniture piece:
1. How much space do you have to work with? Choose the right size vanity for your space. This will allow the vanity to have a dramatic effect visually.
2. Narrow down your personal preference in terms of style of decor.
3. What do you require as regards surface space? Be realistic about your grooming habits and the grooming appliances and toiletries that you routinely use. A vanity with two bowl may be optimal for some, but if it sacrifices too much surface space it could be a drawback.
4. Answering the above question will better enable you to decide between one basin or two. While two basin gives the ability for two to prepare for the day simultaneously, the sacrifice of surface space may not be a good trade-off. Two basins will also reduce inside storage space in a vanity.
5. The type of basin chosen may also depend on who is using the bath. An above counter basin may be lovely in a master bath, but in a main bath used by small children it may present a problem, when you consider it is higher and may exceed their reach.
6. What price range will your budget accomodate? Know how much you can easily allow for purchasing a bathroom vanity.
summing up: As you embark on comparison shopping take notes of where you find what you think is a good match for your bath, the price, and what it includes.
Some bathroom vanities may include only the base, others offer the base and countertop as a package. You will also need to know about faucets. Are faucets included, or will they be a separate purchase?
You need to keep notes of what is included with each item in order to make a fair price comparison from one to the other and finally select a Bathroom vanity furniture piece that fits your preference in style, size, and price.

- Renovating a bathroom is a job, but it is so rewarding when it is finished. Thankfully, it is one space in a house that doesn't need constant updating. A well done renovation will last many years, with just a little refreshing from time to time.
