Before you begin you should know about AP (Action Points) every action you make is Sios consume your AP (apart from the free mining and building).

Your AP counter located in the top left menu, and is regerate 5 every one hour(up to +7 per hour if you have 8 friend listed as crew), therefor this game is about managing your AP in order to have maximal gain (exp, item and gold).

New Player would be put in Azure Atoll -a place where no PVP is allowed- and starting as a sailor, just do explore first and don't bother about buying weapon or equipment since you would reach 10 level in no time, each time you level up you will gain attribute point which you can allocate in your profile page, save them for now, or you can allocate them immediately if you already know what build is good for your captain.

After you reach level 11 you can change class from sailor to a more specific class.
Keep on exploring in Azure Atoll until all area and the boss is unlocked, once done travel to imperial city to replace your ship and buy some new weapon.
