Baxter Loves His Laser Pointer Toy!

Meet Baxter!
Baxter is a nine year old Greyhound-Lab hybrid. My husband and I rescued him from a kill shelter in New York City after September 11 (no kidding!), so he is pretty much in a good mood all the time. Because he's 70 pounds and very sensitive, we couldn't bear to make him fly on a plane, we've driven him cross-country (from New York to California) three different times. We're crazy like that!
Baxter's favorite thing right now is the laser pointer that we got him over the winter so that he could get sufficient exercise inside. It makes him so happy, he jumps up and wags his tail whenever we get it out.

Why he's named Baxter
Actually, he was first called Max, and then there were so many other dogs in the city of New York named Max, we couldn't keep calling him that. One day we started calling him "Max Baxter," and then the Baxter part just stuck. Actually, it's probably just the "AX" sound that he's responding to, so maybe that's what we'll call him next! Baxter likes the following things:
* Walk-walks
*Road trip
*Out and about
*Rover (this was his dog daycare place in California)
*Play ball
*Wet food
All of these are much better when said with a question mark on the end, as if to ask "Do you want.....?"

Baxter loves
A game called "Run Back This Way," where he just runs at top speed, back and forth, for absolutely no reason, with a big doggie grin on his face.
A Few More of Baxter's Favorite Things
Big dogs need alot of exercise-- Baxter is over nine years old and still needs to get out and do something active every day! As our vet said "there's nothing more expensive than an old, fat dog."
We think Baxter is a Greyhound/ Lab/ maybe some Great Dane. What do you think?
