The Bay City Rollers

I was a huge fan of these guys from the time I was 11 years old until about 15. My bedroom wall was covered with their pictures, I wore plaid, or tartan as they called it. I bought every magazine that had their picture on it.

The Bay City Rollers are from Edinburg, Scotland. There were the brothers, Alan and Derek Longmuir. Then there was Eric Faulkner, Woody Wood and the lead singer was Leslie McKeown. Later on, Alan wanted out so they brought in a guy named Ian Mitchell and later replaced him with Pat McGown. Alan eventually came back before they finally just broke up all together.

They never came close to my town so I never got to go see them. My dad had actually said he would take me if they did. He knew how much I loved them and I think he actually liked their music.

They got their own show Saturday morning in 1978. Apparently they never got any of the royalties and I think they are suing their manager. I don't know any details of this but I saw a program on VH1 about them.

So this lens is dedicated to The Bay City Rollers. I hope you enjoy the videos.
