Blackadder - British Comedy

The historic first Blackadder series with Rowan Atkinson's first incarnation as 'Black Adder' - the incompetent, bitter and twisted son of Richard, Duke of York, who, with the help of his trusty (and equally stinky) aide, Baldrick (Tony Robinson), and Percy (Tim Mclnnerny) begins his slithering journey through the ages, scheming for an easier life, a better position and perhaps even a shot at the throne itself. The original series also stars Brian Blessed as Richard IV, Peter Cook as Richard III, Miriam Margolyes as the Infanta Maria of Spain and Rik Mayall as Mad Gerald.

Blackadder was runner-up in the BBC's search for Britain's Best Sitcom. There are four BBC audio books with this great comedy series, ready for online download:

The Black Adder
Blackadder II
Blackadder The Third
Blackadder Goes Forth

Alan Partridge - Knowing Me Knowing You - The British TV Show - BBC

Here is where it all began. Where Alan Partridge, chat show supremo, moved off On the Hour's sports desk and into the mainstream, for a spot of raw emotion and some hilarious anecdotes on the sleek studio sofas.

The talents that led Alan Partridge to become one of the country's top presenters are all too apparent in these audio books, as he puts incisive and ground-breaking questions to a host of celebrity guests.
