BBQ Baked Beans RecipeBest Baked Beans Recipe
Ingredients:
3-1/3 cups navy beans
13 ounces bacon
1-2/3 onion, finely diced
1/4 cup and 1 tablespoon molasses
1 tablespoon and 1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
3/4 cup and 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon ketchup
1 tablespoon and 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup and 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon brown sugar

Soak beans overnight in cold water.
Simmer the beans in the same water until tender, approximately 1 to 2 hours.
Drain and reserve the liquid.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Arrange the beans in a 2 quart bean pot or casserole dish by placing a portion of the beans in the bottom of dish, and layering them with bacon and onion.
In a saucepan, combine molasses, salt, pepper, dry mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar.
Bring the mixture to a boil and pour over beans.
Pour in just enough of the reserved bean water to cover the beans.
Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
Bake for 3.5 hours in the preheated oven, until beans are tender.
Remove the lid about halfway through cooking, and add more liquid if necessary to prevent the beans from getting too dry.

I love to host the cookouts myself!

kiwisoutback says:

I'd like to think I make the best burger for me, so I'd say I like hosting it, though it's good to not have to worry about the mess to clean up.

Susan52 says:

Actually, either way is good. Potluck is always a good idea for a big BBQ, but I don't mind hosting.

I prefer to attend other cookouts

KimGiancaterino says:

Definitely at the home of a friend who is a BBQ master.

JaguarJulie says:

If you asked my hubby, he'd say host while we have a BBQing friend Todd Sander that can't be beat -- so I'd rather attend HIS cookout! I tried to get him to take a position as the Lowe's backyard grilling guy in the Southeast.

I love to share my favorite recipes!
