"Be Still My Vampire Heart" Review...

The best of Kerrelyn Sparks "Love At Stake" series to date. The characters are well developed and have a chance to "grow" as the story unfolds. Of course the issue at hand is can a mortal and a vampire live happily ever after?

One problem I had with the book was Emma's lack of savvy when it came to crime fighting. Yes, she knew her martial arts and could sink a stake into a vampires heart but from the simple mistakes she often made it was hard to believe Emma was trained by the same people who trained James Bond. Not a biggie as this is a ROMANCE story but still a bit annoying.

A stand alone book in the midst of a series. Readers of previous "Love At Stake" books will enjoy catching up with old friends but new readers who start here will not be lost, confused or feel left out because they started the series "In The Middle". This blending of old friends as supporting characters into new stories is something Kerrelyn Sparks does very well.

Hard core vampire horror fans will probably be disappointed by this offering. It is not edgy, there's no gore in this book this however I consider a bonus for readers of romance novels.

A great mixture of action, humor and romance "Be Still My Vampire Heart" is light without being fluffy. It has a good plot, plenty of Ms. Sparks trademark humor and just enough sexy bits to keep you turning pages. The sex scenes are HOT without being too graphic. All in all a really good story and a fun read.
