Be The Change
Be the Change is taken from the Gandhi quote that asks you to "Be the change you wish to see in the world." With the election and inauguration on January 20, 2009 of President Barack Obama, the paradigm has shifted at last. Now it's our turn to show the world, ourselves, and each other that who we are and what we believe and think will have a positive influence on the planet.
I've collected designs, books, music, movies, and links to progressive and innovative sites that form the foundation of the new paradigm shift. Topics such as world peace, tolerance, saving the planet, global warming, overpopulation, climate change, preservation, renewal, and responsible use of natural resources will define our future. Together we can work to create a better, more compassionate, healthy and peaceful world.

Help shift the paradigm toward peace and tolerance
Change cannot take place unless we all help shift the dominant paradigm to one more in tune with a harmonious planet. This means that more focus needs to be placed on peace instead of war, tolerance instead of hate, and love instead of exclusion. We are one planet and that means we are all children of the same mother. And as members of the same family we need to focus on saving the planet, ending war, and making sure all living beings are treated with equal rights and respect.

We Baracked the world on November 4, 2008!
Paradigm shifts are interesting things. Rarely can someone point to one specific event and say this is how it began. And while the election and inauguration are milestone events, they are the end result of minor little shifts going on in the background for several years.
It took the ravages of the Bush Administration to waken people to the outright thievery and destruction of natural resources for power and profit. And the threats to our civil liberties and constitutional rights were never as apparent as when they were treated as mere annoyances by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Ashcroft, Gonzales, Rice, and all the other ethically-deprived minions of the greedy grabbers and exploiters of anything not nailed down.

The right to marry the one you love.
We cannot be decent human beings without all of us treated equally.
The right to marry the one you love seems so simple, unless you are gay. I confess to not understanding why someone would deny anyone this right. Yes, I've heard the religious excuses but no one can show me where in the bible it says that gay people can't marry. That is a recent division invented as yet another means to divide human beings from each other so we can be effectively picked off and turned against each other. I don't feel that is conducive to world peace so I work to promote the right for everyone who wants to get married to have the right to do so. Please support this buy purchasing one of these designs and wearing it as I really believe that when people see something over and over again it becomes normal in their eyes. One of the many wonderful things about the internet is that you can find exactly what you need from the kind of merchant you want to support. A new place that I discovered recently to sell my environment designs offers the kind of merchandise that meets the expectations of someone purchasing a design that fits their ethical standards. Corporate or Personal?
Merchants like myself offer consumers the choice of supporting independent small businesses that make up the online shopping community. Many of us design for several companies, and like many of my fellow shopkeepers, I appreciate the option that Skreened provides us when we're concerned about the ethical considerations of our products. They're ethically produced and sweatshop free. You don't have to compromise your principles for a t-shirt when you shop at Skreened stores. Here's some of my personal favorites:

Saving The Planet One T-shirt At A Tme
An economical and effective way to get your message out
One of the reasons I started designing t-shirts was because I realized they were an economical and effective way to get my message out to a lot of people. Think about it, a shirt that says something is more likely to be read by a stranger than an article of many words saying the same thing. I like t-shirts for this purpose because they serve a dual purpose: you can wear them and when they wear out, you have dish rags and other useful household items.
