Beach Themed Cakes and Cupcakes

Beach and ocean themed cakes add a special touch to a beach themed party. You can make beach and ocean cakes with cake toppers or create your own cake decorations using fondant like the sea creatures on the cake to the right.

Another option is to use shaped cake pans, like the Wilton sandcastle cake pan below. Then you can decorate the cake with icing and/or graham cracker crumbs for a "sandy" look.

Beach themed cupcakes are easy to make using cupcake toppers like the ones below. You can also create ocean and sea themed toppers from fondant like the ones in the photo on the right.

As with all cupcake decorating, the only limit is your imagination! Decide what type of beach theme you are going for, either nautical, surfing, luau, etc, and decorate your cupcakes keeping that theme in mind.
