Had enough?
When you've had enough and can't take anymore, you're ready for a little beach therapy! Rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit ... naturally.
Beach Therapy
Therapy for your mind, body and spirit...
What is "beach therapy"? I've searched the web for an official definition of "beach therapy". Many people describe it but no one actually defines it, so you heard it here first:BEACH THERAPY: "The treatment of disease or disorders, including various forms of stress, by participating in healthy activities generally associated with and carried out at the seashore."
What can beach therapy do for you? Beach therapy can relieve your mind, body and spirit of the day-to-day pressures we all experience in one form or another. Just a few days of beach therapy can make a bad situation back at home a little more bearable; it can help put quality back into your family life; it can help you clear your head so you can make important life or career decisions; and it can help you turnaround an "ailing attitude." I'm not a medical expert, but I am fortunate to live on the coast of Florida and see and feel firsthand the effects of a day at the beach.
Beach Therapy Rx
Your Beach Therapy Prescription...
4 - 14 Days at the Beach: Whether you complete your beach therapy over an extended weekend or a couple of weeks, you can improve your mind, body and spirit by exercising, eating healthy, meditating and playing. Walk about a mile each day along the shoreline (barefoot is best, watch for obstacles such as broken shells or rocks.) If a mile is too little or too much, walk a distance that is comfortable for your, listen to your body, but don't be afraid to challenge yourself.Eat Healthy: Eat healthy while you're undergoing your beach therapy. Eating fruit and drinking lots of water while you're on the beach will keep you hydrated and energized. There are usually plenty of seafood restaurants on the coast. A fresh fish dinner is a delicious and healthy meal, but don't overindulge. And be sure to drink lots of water.

Wave Meditation: We believe in meditation over medication. Get comfortable and, with your eyes closed, spend a minimum of 30 minutes focusing solely on the sound of the waves crashing and then rolling onto the shore. Be sure to select a beach that is not crowded so you are not distracted. The sounds of nature are naturally soothing and the sound of ocean waves is particularly powerful. On our Florida Beach Reviews website, we've provided a video of "3 Minutes on the Beach" so you can have a three minute virtual wave meditation experience.
PLAY: Here's the one that's a lot of fun... There are so many beach activities and beach sports to participate in, find one that you enjoy and go for it... this is your time to PLAY! If you're feeling adventurous, learn a new sport such as kitesurfing or bodyboarding. Let go and have FUN!

- I'm taking this Monday off and driving down to Point Pleasant Beach here in Jersey. Its so funny that I come across your lens now. You have me psyched because I was telling my friends that I'm just gonna chill and watch the waves. You are right on the money. The beach is therapy. Thanks!
