Perler Bead Crafts

  This lens is all about perler beads which are projects you can make with beads.  You can make them in just four easy steps. 

You can make anything with them - from transportation to animals.  You can make them in 2-D or 3-D which adds to the fun. 

All bead projects are fun to make - I used to make alot myself.  And a lot of them are easy. (Some of the 3-D ones are difficult.) On this page I have how to make bead projects, polls, and ideas for some projects you might want to make.  Enjoy!

How To Make A Perler Bead Project

It takes a really easy four steps to make a perler bead project.

Steps on how to make a Perler Bead Project

Step 1
First pick a pegboard to use. Next carefully place the beads on the pegboard. You can follow an idea or you can make what ever you want. BE CREATIVE!

Step 2
Preheat your dry iron to a medium setting. Next very carefully bring your project to your ironing surface. Be careful not to bump your beads off on your way there! Iron gently and level with your iron.

Step 3
When your project is cool flip it upside down onto your ironing surface.

Step 4
Once your bead project is upside down on your surface iron the other side as well. This is so your project is evenly fused.

WARNING: CHILDREN - PLEASE LET YOUR PARENTS IRON FOR YOU!

Congratulations! You have made a perler bead project!

2-D Projects

  • Frog

  • Poodle

  • Top - I made a plain circle then put a toothpick through the middle!

  • Tick Tack Toe - This one I took a small
    square and made different color triangles for the pieces.(You can make a large square if needed or wanted. With the large square you can make x's and o's. In the small square version you can't fit acctual x's or o's. So I just made do.)

  • Dog

  • Turtle

  • Snail

  • Angel

    3-D Projects

  • Star - I made two identical stars and made one line and circle in the middle. After they were ironed I just slid them into each other. It looked really nice!
