- great stuff! I adopted a beagle not knowing what I was getting into, luckily I had trained many other dogs before and was able to fall back on that. My Beagle is now 8 years old and only recently been able walk her without a leash... good stuff!

- What wonderful information (and enjoyed the humor too!) My dog is actually part Beagle, part Yorkie but acts like a Beagle. Love him to death but he does try my patience at times.

- Oh how I know the feeling. My beagle definitely takes it out of me, but patience is a virtue right? :)

- I don't have a beagle (or any dog, actually) but I just finished reading a fun free Kindle book called "Fixing Freddie" about a woman and her wayward beagle. Cute lens and great suggestions; particularly Tip #2. Our neighbor had an adorable little beagle named "Abby" who never ever stayed at home but followed her nose all over the place. Sadly, she disappeared on a jaunt and never came back.

- I have a beagle named Jake and wow - he is very naughty. I don't think there is anyone who has enough patience for these dogs and what they do. On the positive side, he is sweet, loving, loyal and clearly loves his human family. He is very smart & is the only dog I know that sneezes (begs) for treats. He learned how to sneeze as a trick a lot faster than he learned how to go potty outside. Naughty and all, I love my beagle Jake : )

- I have my Beagle (Rafa) for about 5 years now, he is still learning the command "come". what a nose.
I have my trained to go about his business in the yard and always at the same place, it is much easier to keep clean. took me 5 tries.
He follows most of the commands, a good one to learn is the "stay" I let him free in the woods and fields near my house.
I am now training him for the "come" command it is not easy, but will managed I still have few more year to try.

- These dogs are the greatest... full of energy and love to please there masters. They are also great hunters but are most revered for their flexibility as a working dog and family pet.
