Make money online for free with GPT, or Get Paid To sites. These sites allow you to make money online by completing surveys, signing up of email newsletters, participating in trial offers, trying out new products, and more. GPT sites are an easy way to earn money in your spare time.

I am a stay at home mom that found a way to earn money online while still making my children my priority. I've been earning money online since November of 2007. I share all of my money making secrets here. Read further to find out how to get paid for completing free offers on GPT sites.

There are many GPT sites that will pay you for your time with absolutely no money out of your pocket.

Looking for a Way to Make Money Online?

Here you will learn how to make money online. All of the money making opportunities discussed on this page are free. I don't list a GPT site or a paid online survey site unless they have actually paid me. I've been earning money online since November of 2007.

What You Need To Know To Get Started

The Difference Between Get Paid To and Paid Surveys

Before you start working from home to make money online for free, you need to learn the difference between paid survey sites and GPT sites. Many GPT sites call themselves paid survey sites and most people trying to recruit GPT referrals will call the money making opportunity online surveys. So, it can get confusing at first. But it's very important to know the difference between GPT and paid survey sites because many of my own referrals have joined CashCrate and then email me about not understanding how to make money. They were expecting to complete surveys for money and not offers. If you're expecting to take interesting surveys on GPT sites, then you may be discouraged to find a bunch of monotonous offers. And we don't want a little thing like boredom to get in the way of you earning a bunch of free money.

Paid survey sites usually require you to sign up and then they email you surveys that you can either choose to complete or not. For each survey you are rewarded either a small sum of money (sometimes just pennies, but it can really add up) or points that can be redeemed for cash, gift cards, or sweepstakes entries. Most paid survey sites seem to offer mainly sweepstakes entries for your efforts than guaranteed payment. While the odds for these contests are much better than winning the lottery, I prefer to focus most of my time on GPT sites because they offer compensation for all surveys and offers that I complete. To learn more about paid survey sites, including reviews of sites I've tried, check out my lens Get Paid to Take Surveys.

About the Offers on GPT Sites

Offers are Not as Straight Forward as Paid Surveys

GPT sites have what they call offers. These usually require you to sign up for some annoying email newsletters or something of that nature. The purpose for these "offers" is to get you to submit your email, address, or phone number so that companies can reach you for future advertisements. Sometimes the offer will result in what is usually referred to as a silver offer. This requires that you sign up for a trial of some sort. For example, maybe you sign up for a trial membership of a book club. You get your free trial books and either keep them, agreeing to join the book club, or send them back and cancel the membership (which means you will be charged nothing). Accepting trial offers can be a real pain if you aren't wanting to put any money out at all because you will have to stay very organized and on top of everything so that you can cancel your trials before any money is due. I don't like having to worry about canceling things, so I just stick to surveys and 100% free offers. If you are willing to stay organized and do the trials, then you have the potential to make some serious cash.

Tips To Help You Be Successful At Earning

What I've Learned about Making Money Online for Free

CashCrate make money for freeThe first thing you need to do is set goals. Decide if you want to make a little extra money and treat this as a hobby or if you want to make online money making opportunities into a business and bring home a steady monthly income.

If you are just wanting to make GPTs and paid surveys a hobby, then I would suggest joining Cash Crate first. It is the easiest of all the GPT sites that I've tried. It has a ton of offers to complete for cash. It is super easy to get your offers to approve with Cash Crate (no need to clear you cookies). Best of all, Cash Crate pays super fast. If you have fun with Cash Crate and have enough time to tinker around with some other sites, then try out a few of the other sites I've listed on this lens and choose the ones that you find to be the most enjoyable to you.

If you want to treat this more like a business, then I'll get you started on the road to success. You could easily join a whole bunch of sites, but if you don't get organized in the beginning it will be very hard to make money efficiently. The following tips will get you well on the way to making money online:

1) Choose a password that means something to you. Be sure that it is one that you will not forget. Use this password for you gmail account (more about this in step 2) and for all of your online memberships. You don't want to sign up with a whole bunch of different sites and use a lot of different passwords or you'll forget which password goes to which site. If you've already joined a few sites and used various passwords, don't worry. Just log into your account and change your password. You can always go to your profile or account information on these sites and your email address, password, and mailing address if necessary.

2) Create multiple free email accounts and rotate the email addresses you use in order to get more offers to clear. One options is to create 7 email accounts and use a new email address each day of the week.

3) Keep track of each site you register with as you sign up for your free accounts. First create a folder in your favorites called something like "internet earners" and every time you register for a money making site, save it to your favorites in this folder. As you experiment with different sites, if you come across one that you don't like at all you can delete it from your favorites so you don't waste time at it again. Like wise if you take any of my traffic advice that I discussed in earlier posts, you can create a folder called "marketing" or something similar and when you join a traffic building site you can add it to your favorites in this folder. Organizing your links in this manner will help a lot. Then on days that you have time to work on your money making opportunities, you can just go down the list of links in your favorites.

4) Create an Excel spreadsheet that has a list of all the money making sites you register with. Then add a columns for amount earned, minimum payout, fees, and payment method. These sites are willing to pay you for your participation because they make money by getting more users because it's all about advertising. Companies are willing to pay big money in order to get your contact information so that they can advertise their products and services to you. Always remember that these sites are in it to make money. Many of them will not pay you unless you ask for your payment by cashing out. If you update your spreadsheet weekly, it will be really easy to see when you reach your minimum payout with a particular site and then you can log in and cash out.

5) Set your computer to accept all cookies. Go to "Tools" in Internet Explorer, then "Internet Options," then the "privacy" tab. Once there set your privacy setting to accept all cookies. Many sites will not clear any offers at all unless you do this. Cash Crate was clearing about 85% of the offers I did even when I had my privacy setting set on medium.

6) Before you log into each site, clear all your cookies. You do this under "Tool" and then the general tab. If you have trouble clearing offers on certain sites, then you will need to clear your cookies before each offer (you have to do this on Squishy).

7) Almost all of the GPT and paid survey sites have referral programs. These are great; they allow you to make money on auto pilot. You make a percentage of what your referrals make. You get your referral link or banners by going to the referral section of each money making site. You can advertise your links on your blog, put it in your email signature, etc. You can get other referral and traffic tips in an earlier post I made.

8) Set aside some time to work on the offers and surveys weekly. You will not make money unless you put some time into this. It might seem insignificant at first...25 cents here, a dollar there. But it really adds up.

Be Persistant!

The best advice I can give you in regards to GPTs and paid surveys is to be persistent. So many people get frustrated within a few hours of registering with one of these money making opportunity sites. Remember that this is free money. You didn't have to mail out resumes or compete for a job. Don't expect to make big bucks per offer or survey. Most surveys pay $0.40 to $1.50 each, but if you do just 10 a day that really adds up. Imagine how much you can make if you really put time into it.

My Favorite Money Making Sites

Join these free sites and start making money today.

All of these GPT sites are free. If you're a little unsure about all of this, do what I did in the beginning. Sign up for your free account with these sites and then put in only enough time with each to reach your first payout. Once you receive your first payment, you'll know they are worth your time.
Cash Crate
This is my favorite money making site. It's easy to work with, pays fast, and has a great referral program. They pay you to complete offers (you can sort them to show only the free ones), they offer 1 survey each day that pays 80 cents (if you just did the survey every day that would be $24 a month!), and they offer cashback to shop online at participating stores (ex. WalMart, Babies-R-Us, Apple iTunes, and more). Their minimum cashout is $10, which is super easy to get with this site, and they pay via check. You usually receive a check around the 22 of each month for the previous month's earnings. You can read more about Cash Crate further down this lens.

Deal Barbie Pays Fast
Deal Barbie Pays Fast has a super low $1 minimum cashout and you can cashout when ever you want and as often as you want. They pay via PayPal within 24 hours of cashout.

Squishy Cash
Squishy Cash is hugely popular with serious GPTers. In most people's minds, it's second only to Cash Crate. They pay via check or PayPal. They have many, many offers to choose from. They also offer 3 daily surveys that pay $1.00 each. They have very recently added Paid To Click as an additional way to earn. Their referral program pays you 20% of what your referrals make. The best part about Squishy is the promotions they run. For example, sometimes they run a promotion that pays you a dollar for every 5 approved offers (not the first five, but every 5).

Deal Barbie Pays
Deal Barbie Pays is the main GPT site in the Deal Barbie's series. With Deal Barbie Pays, you make 20% of everything your 1st level referrals earn. DBP processes payments monthly with a $20 minimum. DBP allows you to use some of your earnings to purchase banner, paid to click, and paid to sign up advertising. You may want to take advantage of this to advertise your blog, business, or even your referral link to other GPT sites.

How To Make The Big Bucks

Build up your downline, get referrals.

In order to earn the really big checks with GPT sites, you need a lot of referrals. Your referrals, people you recruit to join a GPT or paid survey site under you, are your downline. You can easily go from earning $20 a month to hundreds by building your downline. I've even see people earn as much as $1,500 by building up an awesome downline. Anyone can have a huge downline. All it takes is time.

Below I've created a list of various ways you can advertise your referral link so that you can build your downline.

Here are ways to advertise your referral link...

Online:
1) Put a brief ad with your referral link in the signature on your email account.
2) Get active on various forums and put your referral link or banner in your signature. If you make good quality posts (doesn't have to be about making money online, just about what ever the topic of the forum is), you'll get people signing up by checking out your signature.
3) If you have friends that you think would be interested in GPT sites, email them about it and include your referral link.
4) Advertise in work at home and online money making forums. There are a ton of them out there, just do a Google search.
5) Make a blog about making money online and review every GPT you belong to and include your referral banners. I use blogger.com because it's free and easy to use.
6) Make a Squidoo lens about the GPT sites you belong to. Squidoo (it's free) is great because they pay you for creating lenses and they rank super high in Google searches without you having to know anything about tags. Look at this page as an example of what's possible with Squidoo.
7) Talk in chat rooms that are about "easy money" or "working from home."
8) Join free traffic building sites. I use this one.
9) Talk in chat rooms that are about "easy money" or "making money online."

Off line:
1) Make up business cards and pass them out.
2) Make up flyers (the kind that have little tabs at the bottom that people can tear off and have you URL to your blog or Squidoo lens so people can tear it off and have your address) and post them around. The reason for putting your blog or Squidoo address instead of your referral link is because your referral link looks something like this: http://cashcrate.com/4552347 and people tend to just put the cashcrate.com in and leave off your referral number so they are signing up for CashCrate, but not as your referral.
3) Write your url on paper money. This works especially well if you use the paper money for tips. I write, "I made this money online for free. www.squidoo.com/GPT-sites-pay" and this has worked very well for me.
4) Pass out flyers at a college campus. College students need extra money and have the time to do GPT sites. They make great referrals.
5) Put an ad on your car so everyone sees your link when you're driving around.
6) Have a button made up and wear it. Maybe have it say "I make money online for free" or "ask me how I make free money." You'd be surprised how many times just running errands or grocery shopping that people will stop you and ask you how your make money. It's really helpful to have business cards handy with the url to your main blog and Squidoo lens.

Check Your GPT Accounts Regularly

Most GPT sites require you to cashout. If you forget you have money in one of your GPT accounts, they will not send it to you unless you request it. The only exception seems to be CashCrate, which automatically puts your check in the mail each month as long as you reach the $20 minimum payout. Also, some GPT sites will close your account if you do not log in within a set amount of time. Be sure to read the TOS.

CashCrate is my Favorite GPT & Biggest Earner

I Earn the Most With This Site

CashCrate Sign Up is FreeI work with a lot of GPT and paid survey sites. Cash Crate is my absolute favorite, though.

Cash Crate's site is super easy to navigate, they pay via check and do not charge a fee for the service, they have a ton of offers to choose from, they offer 2 daily surveys that each pay 80 cents, and they pay you super fast!

The best part about Cash Crate is that unlike many other sites, it isn't tricky to get your offers and surveys to clear. I never have to worry about deleting my cookies with them.

The most amazing part about Cash Crate, and the reason why it's everyone's favorite GPT site, is their referral program. You can very easily earn about $30 a month by just completing the free offers, but you can work your way up to over $1,000 a month if you build up referrals. I've seen people with close to 1,000 referrals make over $1,000 a month due to their referrals. Here's a summary of Cash Crate's referral program:

Bronze Level (0-49 Referrals): 1st Level Commission - 20%, 2nd Level - 10%
Silver (50-149 Referrals): 1st Level Commission - 25%, 2nd Level - 10%
Gold (150-299 Referrals): 1st Level Commission - 25%, 2nd Level - 15%
Platinum (300-499 Referrals) 1st Level Commission - 30%, 2nd Level - 15%
Elite Level (500+ Referrals): 1st Level Commission - 30%, 2nd Level - 20%

There are 3 things that you definitely have to do with Cash Crate to earn the most possible: 1) be sure to go back and click the submit button from the offers' list on Cash Crate's site after you've completed an offer or you won't get credit, 2) be sure to check your email because some of the offers require that you verify your email address before the offer clears, and 3) be sure to verify your phone number for your first cashout. After you do this, all of the rest of your cashouts will be automatic.

This site is super easy and pays fast (you get a check around the 22nd each month for the previous month). Even if you aren't looking to spend a ton of time doing GPT and survey sites and you sign up for only one site, be sure to make it Cash Crate.

Cash Crate Proof of Payment

One Final Note

Don't spread yourself too thin. There are a ton of legitimate GPT sites out there, but if you join them all you won't maximize your earnings. My advice is to pick 5 favorites if you have a job and 10 favorites if you don't and then focus your efforts on those sites.

I have tried Cash Crate, but never seem to qualify for any survey. I had signed up for it back in June and I remember now (because I just tried it again today) why I didn't do it anymore. I would take survey after survey, spending my time answering questions and then at the end, it always said "Sorry you don't qualify for this survey" and I never got any money! Is there something I don't know?

Great site and I suggest that people take you advice about Cashcrate, I have been a member and enjoy the site. I just signed up for gifthulk and you only need 249 coints to get a $15 amazon gift card. That means watch 1 video get 1 coin. They add up fast and gifthulk has a daily opinion poll that gives you 1 coin and the fountain of youth which is a code that gives you bonus coins everyday.

I am going to look into the GPT site. This sounds great as something to do while I am taking a break.

    I have 2 questions.

    1. Can I sign up under you, so you benefit? (I didn't see you mention that and would like to do so for you providing me with this info)

    2. If I enter my number, can I shut off spam texts? I'm annoyed by them ATM

    Thanks!!

Thanks for stopping by. To answer your questions:

    1) If it's a site I belong to that has an affiliate program, then I've already displayed my affiliate link.

    2) Not that I know of. I never give out my cell number. Some people, once they make enough online, decide to get a super cheap pay as you go phone and use that number.
