The Bear Grylls Gerber Knife is a full tang drop point blade that is made of high carbon stainless steel. The blade is 4.75 inches long and has a serrated portion that is located at the bottom half of the knife. The three lanyard holes are ideal for fixing the Bear Grylls Gerber knife to spear in a survival hunting scenario.

The rubberized handle is a great addition that makes this knife easy to handle in cold weather and even when it is rainy and wet. The exposed steel hammering cap is ideal for any hammering or smashing chores that are needed in the wild such as pounding tent poles or breaking glass, etc.

The sheath of the bear grylls gerber knife is one of my favorite features. The kydex blade holder is great because the knife snaps into place and is very quiet and sturdy. The nylon sheath upper is ideal for allowing the sheath to move with your body and attach to your belt.

One of my favorite parts of this sheath is the holder for the metal match that comes with the knife. I never go camping or hiking without a metal match and this allows you to take one piece of kit and have both a knife and a fire making tool without having to think about it. This was a great bonus for me.

Pictured here you can see that the back of the sheath has a sharpening stone. the placement on this is great. You really only will use a sharpening stone at various times so having it with you but out of the way is a plus. This is one of those features that speaks to how well though out this product is.

In this picture you can see the metal match that I mentioned above. These is a phenomenal tool once you get a bit of experience with it. It produces a spark that is nearly 3,000 degrees C and has never failed me yet. Many armies around the world, survivalists and hunters use this tool because of its effectiveness and its resilience. You can literally drop it in water, pull it out and produce fire starting sparks. The fire steel will last for 12k strikes as well. That is a lot of fires!
