    Hello
I found your lens very helpful but I'm only starting out Breeding Bearded Dragons and I was looking for more info about owning and Breading Bearded Dragons.
But while I was looking I found a great ebook with over 170 pages of info at http://www.breedingbeardeddragons.com

I would call her a Hypotang X Firetiger/redcitrus. The color of dragons is determined by the parents but babies from the same parents will be a variety of colors. Breeding for color is done selectively by picking the best colored baby to keep and breed..Hypomelanistic dragons have a simple recessive gene that reduces the dark pigment. They have clear nails and light colored skin. If bread into a line of snows or ones that don't have much color then you'll get a mostly white dragon that some people call a leucistic but isn't a true leucistic. Your dragon is would be het for hypo if the father was hypo. Het means it carries the gene on one allele. For simple recessive gens you need one on both alleles for the gene to be expressed. So you'll have to breed your dragon to one that you know carries the hypo gene and if any of the babies come out hypo then you know for sure your dragon carries the gene.

OK my genetics question: I just bought a little female from a breeder the father was a hypotang that the breeder bought from Draggintails Her mother was a firetiger X red citrus that the breeder also bought from Draggintails. What does that make my little girl? How do I know what she is (I think the term is) Het for? Does her parents determine what line she is as far as if I breed her or will her color tell me what to say she is? I'm really wanting to get into breeding in a year or so but am so confused about the genetics and really want to learn as much as I can...She is one of the most beautiful little dragons I have ever seen! Thank you so much for your help!

I usualy just use the parents types to describe the babies. Such as OrangeXRed. If the parents have more then on trait then I would do it like this Orange/RedXHypo/Red. I always put the males first just so it is easier to keep track of who was bred to who.
