What a wonderful lens! Angel blessed and on to a few folks at some social bookmarking sites because these bears need to be protected. I applaud what you have done here, and even though they are majestic and strong - they still are cute! I can really understand how the Teddy Bear came about.
  • lisadh Feb 27, 2012 @ 6:12 pm | delete
Great photos! And I loved the IUCN rating images. Makes it very easy to see which bears are in the most danger.

Great Lense. You don't really appreciate how big these animals are until you see them up close. I was amazed when I visited the San Diego Zoo and their polar bear exhibit. You could actually sit right next to one with only the glass separating you. Great stuff. Added to like.
  • PosterChildSmile Oct 16, 2010 @ 11:47 pm | delete
I have got to say that my favorite bear is the Giant Pandas, they are so darn cute. All bears are wonderful to see. I'm most familiar with the Black Bears in northern Minnesota. Growing up in the wilderness with all the wildlife was a real trip at times. Bears have good manners, and they appreciate it when we do too. ~ This is a very educational lens.

BTW, I stopped by your sculptures blog and really like you art work.

Frankster: Congratulations on your selection of the GiantSquid community showcase. This lens is very deserving so I have given it 5*. However, I have to tell you that you have left out one very important species of bears. The Gummi Bears !!! The Gummi Bear's home is Bonn, Germany though they are found all over the world and fortunately, the are not endagered. Great job!
