The Beatles and Me
Beatles (Wikipedia)

The Beatles were a pop and rock group from Liverpool, England. The band are recognized for leading the mid-1960s musical "British Invasion" into the United States. Although their initial musical style was rooted in 1950s rock and roll and homegrown skiffle, the group explored genres ranging from Tin Pan Alley to psychedelic rock. Their clothes, styles, and statements made them trend-setters, while their growing social awareness saw their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s.
The Beatles are one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the history of popular music.[2] In the United Kingdom, The Beatles released more than 40 different singles, albums, and EPs that reached number one. This commercial success was repeated in many other countries; their record company, EMI, estimated that by 1985 they had sold over one billion records worldwide. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, The Beatles are the best-selling musical act of all time in the United States.
In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked The Beatles #1 on its list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. According to that same magazine, The Beatles' innovative music and cultural impact helped define the 1960s, and their influence on pop culture is still evident today.

John Lennon
John Ono Lennon, MBE (born John Winston Lennon; 9 October 1940 - 8 December 1980) was an English rock musician, singer, songwriter, artist, and peace activist who gained worldwide fame as one of the founders and members of The Beatles.
In his solo career, Lennon wrote and recorded songs such as "Give Peace a Chance" and "Imagine". Lennon revealed his rebellious nature and wit on television, in films such as A Hard Day's Night, in books such as In His Own Write, and in press conferences and interviews. He was controversial through his work as a peace activist, artist, and author.
Lennon had two sons: Julian Lennon, with his first wife Cynthia Lennon, and Sean Ono Lennon, with his second wife, avant-garde artist Yoko Ono. After a self-imposed retirement from 1976-1980, Lennon reemerged with a comeback album, but was murdered one month later in New York City on 8 December 1980. In 2002, respondents to a BBC poll on the 100 Greatest Britons voted Lennon into eighth place. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked Lennon number 38 on its list of "The Immortals: The Fifty Greatest Artists of All Time" and ranked The Beatles at number 1.
Paul McCartney

Sir James Paul McCartney, MBE (born 18 June 1942) is an English rock singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, poet, entrepreneur, painter, record producer, film producer, and animal-rights activist. He gained worldwide fame as one of the founders and members of The Beatles. McCartney and John Lennon formed one of the most influential and successful songwriting partnerships and "wrote some of the most popular music in rock and roll history". After leaving The Beatles, McCartney launched a successful solo career and formed the band Wings with his first wife, Linda Eastman McCartney, and songwriter/singer Denny Laine.
George Harrison

George Harrison, MBE (25 February 1943 - 29 November 2001)[1] was an award-winning English rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, author and sitarist best known as the lead guitarist for The Beatles. Following the band's breakup, Harrison had a successful career as a solo artist and later as part of the Traveling Wilburys super group. He was also a film producer, with his production company Handmade Films, involving people as diverse as Madonna and the members of Monty Python. After Harrison embraced Hinduism in the 1960s, his spiritual convictions were often evident in his music and public activities.Harrison died of cancer on 29 November 2001, at the age of 58.
Ringo Starr

Richard Starkey, MBE (born 7 July 1940), better known by his stage name Ringo Starr, is an Academy Award-winning English musician, singer, songwriter and actor, best known as the drummer for The Beatles. He was the oldest member of the band, and the last to join the "Fab Four" line up.[1] He now enjoys a successful solo career.
Starr married Maureen Cox on 11 February 1965, and they had three children, Zak, Jason, and Lee; the couple divorced in 1975, and Cox died in 1994. In 1980, on the set of the film Caveman, he met actress Barbara Bach, who played the role of Major Anya Amasova (female lead and main 'Bond Girl') in The Spy Who Loved Me. They were married on 27 April 1981, just a few weeks after the release of Caveman.
What's New With The Beatles?
News about their former members and family...
Sir Paul McCartner has signed up for a voice over role in the popular movie sequel Shrek 4. Paul McCartney is no stranger in starring for animated voice over roles. As a Beatle they did yellow Submarine and he also did The Frog Chorus. The list of stars in the ogre franchise are Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas. Shrek makers have the tradition of getting huge names for the films voice over... Aside from the movie being hilariously funny Sir Paul McCartney would also be there. So fans, watch out for that.

I grew up listening to beatles songs..they are simply amazing...
Hi krissybee14! I'm a die-hard fan of The Beatles, too, and my most favorite album was The White Album! It has all the elements of the different kinds of genre of the music of the future, from folk music (Blackbird), lullaby (Good Night), heavy metal (Helter Skelter), country-rock (Rocky Raccoon) & even children's songs (The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill) & many others! Thanks for sharing this wonderful lens of yours! Would also like to share to you where to buy personal bank checks . Maybe put a little Beatles picture on it, would you like to do that? (-L-,)
