Beatrix Potter's Benjamin Bunny Art Print Available From Amazon

Helen Beatrix Potter (28 July 1866 - 22 December 1943)
Beatrix Potter was born into a privileged lifestyle and was a well educated and artistic woman She was in her thirties when she created her first children's book "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" and upon its huge success continued to create more character stories and illustrate them herself. She became a financially independent single woman at a time when such things were uncommon. Because of her successes she was able to acquire a beautiful property in the Lake District. Beatrix was first married at the age of 47 and she continues to make children's books until her death. All together she created and illustrated 26 books.

Miss Potter - A Movie About The Life Beatrix Potter

I found this movie quite endearing and as a female artist it spoke to me on many levels. I really knew very little about Beatrix potter other than she illustrated and authored many beloved children's books. If you are a fan of her work I think you will really enjoy this film.

Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales [Hardcover]

Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales

Beatrix Potter The Complete Tales Amazon Description
This complete and unabridged collection contains all 23 of Beatrix Potter's Tales in one deluxe volume with all their original illustrations. A perfect gift to introduce children to the world of Beatrix Potter, the Complete Tales is also an ideal christening present; traditional and timeless, it's a classic for any nursery shelf. Discover Beatrix's most famous character, Peter Rabbit, and meet his family and friends. There are so many exciting adventures to enjoy, told with such humour and wit it's difficult to believe that Beatrix Potter wrote many of them over 100 years ago. Children will love hearing what happens to naughty Peter Rabbit when he disobeys his mother and ventures into Mr. McGregor's vegetable garden. They'll delight in discovering the fate of Tom Kitten who, like so many young children, finds it just impossible to keep his clothes neat and clean! The tales are arranged in the order in which they were first published to enable them to be read in proper sequence, as several are linked together by events and characters. There is a section at the end of the book that contains four additional works by Beatrix Potter that were not published in her own lifetime.

The stories included inside are: "The Tale of Peter Rabbit"; "The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin"; "The Tailor of Gloucester"; "The Tale of Benjamin Bunny"; "The Tale of Two Bad Mice"; "The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle"; "The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher"; "The Tale of Tom Kitten"; "The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck"; "The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies"; "The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse"; "The Tale of Timmy Tiptoes"; "The Tale of Johnny Town-Mouse"; "The Tale of Mr. Tod"; "The Tale of Pigling Bland"; "The Tale of Samuel Whiskers"; "The Tale of The Pie and the Patty-Pan"; "The Tale of Ginger and Pickles"; "The Tale of Little Pig Robinson"; "The Story of a Fierce Bad Rabbit"; "The Story of Miss Moppet"; "Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes"; and, "Cecily Parsley's Nursery Rhymes.

To Glaze Or Not To Glaze Your FInished Cross Stitch When Framing

A Few Tips About Glass When Picture Framing Your Needlework

Having framed quite literally thousands of cross stitches in the past couple of decades I am usually surprised when someone does not want to have glass put on the needlework that they just spent months creating. Of all teh things that can go wrong like smokers, dust and bugs why would anyone willingly chance it.

In the end my die-hard stitcher think glass doesn't allow you to see the intricate details of the stitchery. I think this is true to a point. But unless you live an immaculate lifestyle glazing should seriously be considered.

A Few Tips For Using Glass With Your Cross Stitch Or Needlework.

First always use clear glass.
Non glare or anti-reflective glass tends to look just a little foggy even when placed directly over your cross stitch.

Never place glass directly on top of your cross stitch You should always leave an airspace between the glass and the object being framed as this prevents mold growth. You can do this with either matting or special archival framing spacers.

Be sure to allow proper depth to accommodate beads and ribbons on your cross stitch Todays cross stitch patterns are filled with delightful additions like bead, buttons and ribbons. Be sure to choose a frame of adequate depth to allow for these so the glass doesn't crush any of the special goodies on your stitchery.

If you choose to not put glass on your framed needlework you can still add visual interest by padding the cross stitch. This adds a puffy quality to the piece. T0 view a padded cross stitch and the steps for making it please visit the below listed lens.
