A Different Kind of Fashion Accessory

When it comes to my jewelry and accessories, I typically use the ones made of silver, gold and gemstones. I also use beads for more casual affairs. I found out another kind of natural beads that I happen to like instantly. They're the African beads that come from nuts and seeds available in Africa, as the name suggests. There are also those made from animal teeth. They're beige in color and used in various types of ornaments for men and women.

Multipurpose Shelf

I found this stylish shelf that also acts as a divider and as a ladder. It's simply fantastic! It's called tansu. The word tansu in Japanese literally means box. But what it really is, is a stylish storage area, built like a staircase with drawers and shelves where one can store a variety of things including some small appliances like radio and TV. They are made of Kiri wood and are used on lofts called kuras. These days, you can buy one as not jjust a storage place, but also as a divider for small spaces, an accent on a huge bare wall, a stairs from a lower bunk bed to the higher bunk bed and a lot more.
My Dream Home

All my life, I've lived in the city. It's getting too crowded for my taste that I long for the quiet and refreshing ambiance of the woods or the mountains. A perfect home for me would be like one of those Log Homes I see in mountain resort catalogues. Everything is made of wood and just simply looks peaceful and elegant. When you live in one, it's like going home everyday to a vacation.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

I never leave home without looking at my vanity mirror. For me , it's one of those things that make my day so much more beautiful coz the first thing I see when I get up in the morning and before leaving the house is me! Plus, it reflects the light coming from my bedroom window and makes my room so much brighter.

Is this a house or a clinic?

My doctor renovated his office. In his new office, I noticed that all the furnishings are a lot prettier. I never would have thought that medical furniture can be very appealing too. There were sofas, cushions and coffee tables and proper light fixture parts everywhere.

Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Heaven's Door

I visited my friend today who lives uptown. It was my first time in his house and I was surprised to see the beautifully carved wood doors of all his bathrooms and toilets. Totally unexpected but totally beautiful! He said that those luxurious doors have Mexican counterparts called puertas de Madera. Awesome!

Most of the beautiful things I saw today have one thing in common. They're mostly made of wood and are very popular examples of Oriental furniture. I should get at least one for my home too!
