Mineral makeup is quite different than what has been considered the "usual" and the application of it is rather special too.

It's simple to do, it just takes a little know-how. Here are some suggestions for face makeup:

First, before application, it is very helpful to have a moisturizer applied to the face, and have had a few minutes for it to absorb into the skin well.

There are 3 basic steps to a glowing look with Bare Escentials id bareMinerals(TM). They include:

1. Applying id bareMinerals(TM) SPF 15 Foundation - (There are various shades available - choose the one closest to your own skin tone.)
   
   Dip makeup brush into the jar, getting some of the foundation on the brush. Now use the lid of the jar to swirl the brush until all of the minerals are in the bristles. Tap away any excess minerals back into the jar (do this until you cannot see the minerals on the outside of your brush). Then swirl the brush in a circular motion over your face.
   
   **A general rule of thumb is that "less is more" when using this product. It really doesn't take much to achieve good coverage.


2. Apply the Bare Minerals all-over face color to areas that you want to brighten up. This face color makes a great blush - no need to purchase a blush in addition to this unless you want a more dramatic look. (My choice on where to put the color is areas that the sun naturally hits the face, including the forehead above the eyebrows, the apples of the cheeks, a bit on the end and sides of the nose and some on the chin. Where you apply it depends on your own face and the look you want to achieve.)


3. Now apply the id bareMinerals(TM) mineral veil. This has several purposes - it sets your makeup well, conceals pores, controls oily skin without drying and it provides a truly polished look. Use the same technique in doing this as with the foundation in step 1 above.
