1. Price does not mean quality! Some low and mid-budget beauty products can be the same or better quality than luxury beauty products.
2. If you are buying skin care and makeup, make sure it is for your skin type. Yes, not only skincare is made to fit dry, normal, oily types of skin. Foundations, powders, eyeshadows can be of various consistence which would be preferable for various types of skin. If you have oily type make sure the foundation is oil free and powder oil absorbing, creamy/mouse eyeshadows might not work for you either.
3. Learn to read the label of your skin care product. Usually active ingredients should be among the first 5 on the ingredient list. The sooner you come across the active ingredient the better!
4. Learn some useful terms: non-comedogenic - means the product won't clog pores, serum - intensive skin treatment, occlusive - means the moisturizer will create a thin protective layer on your skin to prevent loss of hydration etc.
5. Consult sales representatives at a store and do not be afraid to ask as many questions as you need. Talk to your friends and find out what they are using and if it works for them. Read online reviews before you decide on a certain beauty product. By doing this you will soon develop a better understanding of what is there on the market, what to look for and what to take into account when buying a beauty product.

There are so many specualtions about Luxury Beauty Products. Do they really work? Why are they so highly priced?
Once again, price does not mean quality. However there are luxury skin care and other beauty products that are well worth the price. On the other hand, some luxury lines are mostly about marketing.
I personally believe in a luxury product when it has an impresive ingredient list and when it delivers on its promises.
