Proverbs 31 Gods virtuous woman

On this large wooden laser engraved plaque handmade out of native Curly Maple or Silver Maple, we have written upon this plaque the beautiful bible scripture that embodies the virtues every godly woman strives to attain. She is Solomon's "Virtuous Woman", of Proverbs 31. King Solomon, under the anointing of the Spirit of God, penned in the bible scripture, of Proverbs chapter 31, this heavenly description of a woman whose genuine beauty and charm are reflected in her love for her God, her family, and her commitment to those He has placed in her care. This engraved plaques' lyrical beauty reflects God's perfect creation of womanhood embodied in every woman as the LORD presents her to her husband. Original map of the Twelve Tribes of Israel engraved on Ambassador Black MarbleThe Twelve Tribes of Israel engraved on Black Marble, one of our newest Messianic Jewish laser engraved plaques! The LORD inspired me to make this map of the original twelve tribes, and their approximate land boundaries. In part, due to the intense times we live in. The conflicts occurring in the land of Israel today are nothing short of prophetic bible scripture in action, bridging a time span from Genesis to Revelation. The nature of the conflict, and the unraveling of events on a global stage, demonstrate the amazing accuracy of Biblical prophesy. We're sure you will find this engraved plaque of our premier inspirational plaques, and certainly one of our most creative of all our engraved plaques. For this biblically historical map I chose Ambassador Black Marble because the Rock of our salvation is a sure foundation, and ever faithful to the descendants of Abraham. Handcrafted Inspirational Clocks

Psalms 122, Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem handcrafted clock

This Messianic Jewish religious clock portrays the bible scripture theme of the 122nd Psalm "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem" If there ever was a time to understand the full depth of this Messianic Jewish scripture, it is now in these days we live in. Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is not a casual suggestion, but rather a command from God to you that you may be blessed. Read Psalm 122 in its entirety. Not only that, but until Judah confesses "Baruk Habah Bashem Adonai" or "Blessed is He that comes in the Name of the LORD", things will get worse and worse for everyone. So praying for the Peace of Jerusalem is very important for all of us. Weather you want to admit it or not, we are biblically linked to Judah at the hip. This one of a kind Jewish Messianic clock ranks high in the list of handcrafted unique gifts. This handcrafted clock measures approximately 11" wide by 12.5" high, Battery not included.

The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, February 20, 2008
By Nerd (New Braunfels, Texas United States)

"Be afraid ACLU. Be very afraid."

Morris packs The Christian Life and Character with page after page of original source material making the case that America was founded as a Christian nation. The evidence is unanswerable and irrefutable. This 1000-page book will astound you and send enemies of Christianity into shock. Keep in mind that it was published in 1864 and has been out of print for more than a century. It has been newly typeset using a very readable font and added subheads. A new Foreword written by my long-time friend Dr. Archie Jones describes the background of the book and provides a brief biography of the author." --Gary DeMar

America's Christian History: The Untold Story

Review
History-bashing has become a favorite hobby of psuedo-intellectuals in our time, especially where Christianity has played a prominent role in the shaping of past events. Gary DeMar, by scholarly documentation and clear writing, sets the historical facts straight regarding America's Christian roots. His chapters on 'Whitewashing History' alone justify the publishing of this important book exposing the methods and the motives of those who would rewrite the past to suit their own anti-religion bias. --D. James Kennedy, Ph.D., Sr. Pastor, Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church

Product Description
Christianity is written on every page of America's amazing history. Gary DeMar presents well-documented facts which will change your perspective about what it means to be a Christian in America; the truth about America's Christian past as it relates to supreme court justices, and presidents; the Christian character of colonial charters, state constitutions, and the US Constitution; the Christian foundation of colleges, the Christian character of Washington, D.C.; the origin of Thanksgiving and so much more. Three appendixes have been added that further emphasize Christianity s positive influence on America. Additional information includes Deism and the Founding of America and Jesus Christ and the Founding of America. This is an indispensable book which is needed in a time when even "under God" is coming under fire. (Paperback) Earn College Credit for this resource!

1599 Geneva Bible (Calfskin-Bound Leather) Limited Edition

Product Description
When the Pilgrims arrived in America in 1620, they brought along supplies, a consuming passion to advance the Kingdom of Christ, a bright hope for the future, and the Word of God. Clearly, their most precious cargo was the Bible. The Geneva Bible, printed over 200 times between 1560 and 1644, was the most widely read and influential English Bible of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. This superb translation was the product of the best Protestant scholars of the day and became the Bible of choice for many of the greatest writers, thinkers, and historical figures of that time. The Geneva Bible is unique among all other Bibles. It was the first Bible to use chapters and numbered verses and became the most popular version of its time because of the extensive marginal notes. These notes, written by Reformation leaders such as John Calvin, John Knox, Miles Coverdale, William Whittingham, Anthony Gilby, and others, were included to explain and interpret the scriptures for the common people. For nearly half a century these notes helped the people of England, Scotland, and Ireland understand the Bible and true liberty. King James despised the Geneva Bible because he considered the notes on key political texts to be seditious and a threat to his authority. Unlike the King James Version, the Geneva Bible was not authorized by the government. It was truly a Bible by the people and for the people. You can see why this remarkable version with its profound marginal notes played a key role in the formation of the American Republic. Until now, the only complete version available was a large, cumbersome, and difficult-to-read facsimile edition. But this new edition contains all the original words and notes, but the type set has been enlarged and the font style change for today's reader. THIS IS THE CALFSKIN-BOUND LEATHER LIMITED EDITION. ONLY 500 MADE. EACH BIBLE IS NUMBERED AND INCLUDES A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY SIGNED BY THE PUBLISHER. THIS IS A COLLECTORS ITEM!

1599 Geneva Bible (America's 400th Anniversary Edition)

Review
The publication and promulgation of the 1599 Geneva Bible will help restore America s rich Christian heritage and reclaim the culture for Christ. --Dr. D. James Kennedy, Senior Pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church

Product Description
When the Pilgrims arrived in the New World in 1620, they brought along supplies, a consuming passion to advance the Kingdom of Christ, and the Word of God. Clearly, their most precious cargo was the Bible specifically, the 1599 Geneva Bible. All but forgotten in our day, this version of the Bible was the most widely read and influential English Bible of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. A superb translation, it was the product of the best Protestant scholars of the day and became the Bible of choice for many of the greatest writers and thinkers of that time. Men such as William Shakespeare, John Bunyan, and John Milton used the Geneva Bible in their writings. William Bradford also cited the Geneva Bible in his famous book Of Plymouth Plantation. Tolle Lege Press is pleased to announce the release of the America s Four-Hundredth Anniversary Edition of the 1599 Geneva Bible (1607-2007). This special family edition of the 1599 Geneva Bible is re-introduced by Dr. Marshall Foster who reveals remarkable accounts from history of how the Geneva Bible played a key role in the settling and building of America beginning in 1607. The Geneva Bible is credited as the Bible that built America and its republication is providentially planting seeds for America s restoration. This new commemorative edition is larger (8.75 x 11.5) and is hardbound in a genuine leather that is embossed and stamped with gold. The pages are also gilded in gold and a special section has been added in the front of this Bible for a family tree, record of births, marriages, and deaths. This luxurious edition is truly a Family Bible that will be cherished by your family for many generations.

This selection of reference material is just hard to find sometimes.

But it will astound you with some truth that is very hard to find anywhere else!

The Lost Books of The Bible contains some priceless historical documents that were written during the times of Jesus. Some I believe to be authentic and very close to Scripture them selves, and others I don't. Many of these manuscripts were considered to be possibly added to what we now call the bible, but those who made the decisions of that day chose not to. Read them and decide for your self, you will be happy you did.

The remainder of these books provides for fascinating reading! Are they all true? No, not everything, but there is enough good material to provide some great incites that wading through the off color parts isn't so bad

Fallen Angels and the Origins of Evil: Why Church Fathers Suppressed the Book of Enoch and Its Startling Revelations

Book Description
Did rebel angels take on human bodies to fulfill their lust for the daughters of men? Did these fallen angels teach men to build weapons of war? That is the premise of the Book of Enoch, a text cherished by the Essenes, early Jews and Christians, but later condemned by both rabbis and church fathers. Elizabeth Clare Prophet examines the controversy surrounding this book and sheds new light on Enoch's forbidden mysteries. She demonstrates that Jesus and the apostles studied the book and tells why church fathers suppressed its teaching that angels could incarnate in human bodies. Contains all the Enoch texts, including the Book of Enoch, and biblical parallels to the Book of Enoch.

She has pioneered techniques in practical spirituality, including the creative power of sound for personal growth and world transformation. Lost Scriptures: Books that Did Not Make It into the New Testament

Review
"History, it's often said, is written by the victors. Bart Ehrman argues in a pair of intriguing new books that the same could be said of the Bible's New Testament. That Ehrman makes his case without pushing into territory considered heretical by many mainstream Christians shows a deft touch with the most volatile of subjects.... Will shock more than a few lay readers."--The Boston Globe

"Lost Scriptures provides a good sample of the literature and illustrates nicely the complex and often exotic world of second- and third-century Christianity.... The texts presented in Ehrman's anthology and his incisive analyses of them constitute a solid contribution to showing the diversity of thought and practice within early Christianity."--America

"A companion to Lost Christianities, this volume provides substantial selections from over three dozen of the Gospels, Acts, Epistles, Apocalypses and revelatory treatises not included in the New Testament canon, but which reveal the diverse and competing forms of early Christianity. Ehrman's introductions helpfully situate the documents in their presumed original settings. An invaluable collection of texts for both students of early Christianity and general readers."--Elizabeth A. Clark, John Carlisle Kilgo Professor, Duke University

"Fresh authoritative translations of the texts that fell outside in the canon."--Christian Science Monitor

Book Description
While most people think that the twenty-seven books of the New Testament are the only sacred writings of the early Christians, this is not at all the case. A companion volume to Bart Ehrman's Lost Christianities, this book offers an anthology of up-to-date and readable translations of many non-canonical writings from the first centuries after Christ--texts that have been for the most part lost or neglected for almost two millennia. Here is an array of remarkably varied writings from early Christian groups whose visions of Jesus differ dramatically from our contemporary understanding. Readers will find Gospels supposedly authored by the apostle Philip, James the brother of Jesus, Mary Magdalen, and others. There are Acts originally ascribed to John and to Thecla, Paul's female companion; there are Epistles allegedly written by Paul to the Roman philosopher Seneca. And there is an apocalypse by Simon Peter that offers a guided tour of the afterlife, both the glorious ecstasies of the saints and the horrendous torments of the damned, and an Epistle by Titus, a companion of Paul, which argues page after page against sexual love, even within marriage, on the grounds that physical intimacy leads to damnation. In all, the anthology includes fifteen Gospels, five non-canonical Acts of the Apostles, thirteen Epistles, a number of Apocalypses and Secret Books, and several Canon lists. Ehrman has included a general introduction, plus brief introductions to each piece. This important anthology gives readers a vivid picture of the range of beliefs that battled each other in the first centuries of the Christian era.

The Final Quest

5.0 out of 5 stars Truth Coming Alive, May 30, 2002
By J. D Jones (Roubaix France)
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Final Quest (Paperback)
My wife and I serve as foreign missionaries in capacities of discipleship and are often reading Christian books for both ourselves and for those we're trying to minister to. I usually have a stack of books waiting for me to read everytime I finish one more.
The Final Quest is one of only a very few books I've read for a second time. I even read it for a third time and plan to read it for a fourth.
This book is a description of a personal prophetic experience. Those who would say Joyner is placing emphasis on himself in much of the book are right. Theat's BECAUSE it's a prophetic experience in which God was brining correction into his life. It's to his credit that he opens up and becomes transparent to us as he lets us see sins and faults from his past.

Also, it's not meant as a book to establish doctrine. Joyner makes that clear in the intro. He's just trying to acurately report what he experienced. Joyner can't take the credit weather you like or hate the book. He's just stating what he saw and experienced. This book isn't about Joyner being a goo writter, creative or even a good teacher. It's in testimony format. One reporting what he sicerley believes God to have shown him

The reason I gave it a high mark, is because it's one of those books that helps you to see things from a diffrent persepective. It gives you a bit of a PARADIGM SHIFT. It helped me to see both the importance of love and humility I give five stars because it ministered to me and it helped me understand many verses that i thought i understood in a fresh and challenging light. I can truely say I'm more challenged and inspired to be a follower of Christ now in both loving devotion and humility.

Give the book a read. remember what it is and what it is not meant to be.

Epic Battles of the Last Days

5.0 out of 5 stars One of his best..., November 27, 2000
By Caz (Kitchener, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Epic Battles of the Last Days (Paperback)
I've been reading Mr. Joyner for years, have stepped back from active ministry because of the very things he discusses in this book, and am now rekindled to pick up his works and read them afresh (no doubt, with a greal deal of new understanding and insight into the depth of the topics he boldly nails).

This title, 'Epic Battles of the Last Days,' I consider one of his strongest discourses. The main theme is spiritual warfare, and that inside the church. Reader, you will be challenged from every side, you will be called to test yourself against the measure of the Word, you will be prompted to review your personal lifestyle and relational patterns. You will be uncomfortable, if you read this tome to reflect upon yourself.

I have no doubt there will be those who read this book and see everyone else but themselves within the pages. It's too bad, because those souls will lose out on the rich treasure-trove of wisdom that would serve to bolster their faith and strengthen their resolve to make a marked difference in Body life and ministry - one to another and to the world. The points the author makes (and deconstructs, rebuilds) will serve to be practical application. It's well done.

Mr. Joyner, keep following the Lord's voice for He's called you to speak forth a difficult message. Even so, know that more and more are beginning to hear, and to listen. This book is a much-needed blessing for the broken and battered Church the world over.

Visions of the Harvest

By yarden "yarden" (portland, or) - See all my reviews
"Visions of the Harvest" is a book of "three prophetic visions and a Spirit-inspired allegory" that augments Rick Joyner's other books of prophecy. This book includes four sections which address different specific spiritual issues including christian unity, economic disaster, spiritual warfare and the enemy's attack on the church, and an allegory called "Escape from Christendom" by Robert Burnell.

Although "Visions of the Harvest" did not have the broad scope of Rick Joyner's better known "The Final Quest," this work did address some specific issues that deserve attention and consideration.

If you are interested in what God is saying to today's prophets, begin with Joyner's "The Final Quest," and move through his books. "Visions of the Harvest" is exactly what the title calls it -- glimpses into what the future may hold and what our responsibility is in the future.

Complete Jewish Bible : An English Version of the Tanakh (Old Testament) and B'Rit Hadashah (New Testament)

Book Description
Why is this Bible different from all other Bibles? Because it is the only English version fully Jewish in style and presentation. It includes Dr. Stern's new version of the "Tanakh" ("Old Testament") and his highly acclaimed "Jewish New Testament."

The Complete Jewish Bible:

Jewish New Testament Commentary: A Companion Volume to the Jewish New Testament

Book Description
- The Torah (Law of Moses)--is it in full force today? Yeshua (Jesus) said, "Don't think that I have come to abolish the Torah... I have come not to abolish, but to complete." What did he mean?

- Sha'ul (Paul) wrote, "All Israel will be saved." Was he speaking of all Jews? Messianic Jews (Jews who believe Yeshua is the Messiah)? The Church? Who is Israel?

- Why did Yeshua juxtapose the saying, "Do not store up for yourselves wealth here on earth" and "The eye is the light of the body"?

Dr. David Stern, a Messianic Jew living in Jerusalem, speaks to these and other issues in the Jewish New Testament Commentary. In this companion volume to his widely read and highly acclaimed "Jewish New Testament," he offers an exciting and original way of understanding the New Testament from a Jewish point of view. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

From the Publisher
Drawing on years of research, Dr. Stern relates the New Testament text to the "Tanakh" ("Old Testament"), to the historical setting, to rabbinic materials and to Christian theology. He answers questions Jewish people have about Yeshua, the New Testament and Christianity; questions Christians have about Judaism and the Jewish roots of their faith; and questions Messianic Jews have about being both Jewish and Messianic.

He demonstrates that the New Testament upholds Jewish values and verities, such as the oneness of God, the chosennesss of Israel, the sanctity of the Torah, and the importance of works along with faith. He also shows how the New Testament speaks to modern issues like assimilation, intermarriage, missionizing and antisemitism. Fiunally, int terms of the Greek and Hebrew languages, Judaism and fir-century culture, he explains controversial "Jewish New Testament" renderings.

The "Jewish New Testament" and "Jewish New Testament Commentary" challenge Christians to rediscover their Jewish connection, and Jews to discover their Jewish Messiah. These two books belong on the shelf of everyone who wants to understand the Bible better. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

The Complete Dead Sea Scrolls in English (Penguin Classics)

Amazon.com
It's been 50 years since a Bedouin youth named Muhammed edh-Dhub went looking for a stray sheep and instead found the Dead Sea Scrolls. In the intervening decades, the scrolls have been enveloped in a storm of controversy and bitter conflict: the scholars entrusted with translating and editing the texts sat on many of them instead, creating suspicions that escalated to conspiracy theories about supposed cover-ups of sensitive, even damaging material. Geza Vermes, a former professor of Jewish studies at Oxford and a noted authority on the scrolls, marks the 50th anniversary of Muhammed edh-Dhub's find with his book The Complete Dead Sea Scrolls in English; the title, however, is misleading, for the collection of documents is by no means complete.

Vermes has left out the copies of Hebrew scriptures that are available elsewhere, instead focusing on the sectarian writings of the Essene community at Qumran and the intertestemental texts, and these are indeed complete translations. Vermes has also included an overview of five decades of research on the scrolls and a thumbnail sketch of the Qumran community's history and religion. For anyone interested in biblical history, The Complete Dead Sea Scrolls in English is a worthwhile read. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From Library Journal
This one-volume translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls joins those of Florentino Garcia Martinez (The Dead Sea Scrolls Translated, Eerdman's, 1996) and Michael Wise and others (The Dead Sea Scrolls: A New Translation, LJ 12/96) and is the latest edition of The Dead Sea Scrolls in English, first published in 1962. In a 90-page introduction, Vermes (emeritus, Jewish studies, Wolfson Coll., Oxford) briefly summarizes the 50-year history of scrolls research. He presents an overview of the sectarian community associated with the scrolls (whom he identifies as the Essenes), its history, and its beliefs. Though dubbed "complete" (the preface explains that "meaningless scraps or badly damaged manuscript sections are not inflicted on the reader"), Vermes's translation is generally the most selective of the three. This sometimes saves the reader from the possible frustration of line upon line of brackets and ellipses, but it gives a limited idea of the extent of the textual material available. However, the translation is good and has stood as the standard for many years. As with Bibles, libraries should have more than one version of the Dead Sea Scrolls.?Craig W. Beard, Univ. of Alabama at Birmingham Lib.

Everyone needs a Septuagint

The Septuagint is a very important literary biblical treasure for more reasons than I can go into here. When Judah was taken away captive into Babylon, the Jewish sages of that day were forced to translate their Hebrew Scriptures into the Greek language for the Babylonians. Since what most Christians call the New Testament is by and in large written in Greek, this wonderful work opens up ones understanding far beyond the norm. It is a must have if you want to go deeper into the truths veiled in the scripture. "It is the right of God to hide a thing, and the honor of Kings to search it out"

The Septuagint with Apocrypha: Greek and English

5.0 out of 5 stars "JAVAN IN THE HOUSE OF SHEM:" A MUST-HAVE FOR ALL CHRISTIANS, September 22, 2002
By Daniel Rivera (Los Angeles, California United States)
Javan was the forefather of the Greeks, just as Shem is the ancestor of the Semitic peoples, among these the Jews. This work, begun in 275 B.C. by a group of seventy rabbis, represents the union of two cultures that forever changed history. The Work of the Seventy, or THE SEPTUAGINT, is a watershed in Jewish history and critical in the formation of the Christian Church.

The Septuagint allowed those with little or no knowledge of the Hebrew language or Judaic culture to read the prophecies and history that form the foundation of the Christian message, allowing its spread throughout the empire. In addition, much study has shown that the authors of the New Testament either allude to or quote directly from the Septuagint -a survey look at St. Paul's epistles will confirm this. Furthermore, Christian apologists since the Apostolic Fathers have used the Septuagint in defense of the Christian faith, such as Isaiah 7:14 on the Virgin Birth, where the Hebrew word "almah" -which means "maiden" or "virgin"- is translated into greek as "parthenon" which means "virgin" almost exclusively. (In fact, the Old Testament uses both "maiden" and "virgin" interchangeably, not always referring to a woman who has not had relations; this is a subject of continuing debate). As such, the Septuagint has played a critical part in the history and development of the Church and its theology (it is the Bible used by the Orthodox Church to this day).

This edition of the Septuagint is among the best currently available, providing the Greek text alongside the 1851 English translation. This is NOT an interlinear; there is no English under the Greek sentences. The binding is beautiful and strong, capable of withstanding one's constant use (hopefully you'll use it avidly!). This LXX unfortunately sets the Apocrypha apart from the main body of the Scriptures, but this compromise is not a significant problem, as their inclusion allows for personal study among Christians throughout the theological and denominational spectrum.

In regards to the debate over the so-called "exclusion" of the tetragrammaton, this is a blatant demonstration of sectarian propaganda: "KYRIOS" and THEOS were used by the translators of the Septuagint according to the Jewish tradition on the Nomen Sacrum of Yahweh, referred to this day by Jews as Adonai or Elohim- His name is too holy for common use: not in an effort to confound the Father with the Son, but to show proper respect to God. The only confounding is done by anti-Trinitarians, in their efforts to claim a conspiracy of sorts that elevated Christ to Deity. The presence or absence of the Divine Name does not affect the meaning of the texts in the Septuagint as much as sectarian intrigue does; such complaints therefore have no credibility.

All in all, this is a highly recommended book, and a must-have for any Bible reference set. ENJOY!

Greek-English Lexicon of the Septuagint

5.0 out of 5 stars Nothing else like it., January 6, 2006
By Philip J. Bohlken (Caldwell, Idaho) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I do not regularly read the Septuagint, but there are times when a passage from it is helpful for work in the New Testament. At such times the last thing one wants is to encounter an unfamiliar vocable or a vocable that has a twist in meaning different from the usual New Testament meaning. Such words are not likely to be found in other Greek lexicons. For such times this work is very helpful. It is not exactly a concordance to the Septuagint, but does give several passages where the word is used, sometimes indicating the list is complete for all occurences. It is spendy, but a very good resource. Put it on a wish list and wait for someone to buy it for you.

The Use of the Septuagint in New Testament Research

Book Description
Too often the Septuagint is misunderstood or, worse, ignored in New Testament studies. In this book R. Timothy McLay makes a sustained argument for the influence of the Greek Jewish Scriptures on the New Testament and offers basic principles for bridging the research gap between these two critical texts.

McLay explains the use of the Septuagint in the New Testament by looking in depth at actual New Testament citations of the Jewish Scriptures. This work reveals the true extent of the Septuagint's impact on the text and theology of the New Testament. Indeed, given the textual diversity that existed during the first century, the Jewish Scriptures as they were known, read, and interpreted in the Greek language provided the basis for much, if not most, of the interpretive context of the New Testament writers.

Complete with English translations, a glossary of terms, an extensive bibliography, and helpful indexes, this book will give readers a new appreciation of the Septuagint as an important tool for interpreting the New Testament.

Number in Scripture: Its Supernatural Design and Spiritual Significance

Book Description
This classic reference book on biblical numerology provides a complete synopsis of the spiritual significance of numbers found in the Bible.

About the Author
E. W. Bullinger (1837-1913) was a direct descendant of Johann H. Bullinger, the Swiss reformer. Bullinger was a lifelong scholar and writer studying at King's College, London. In 1862 he was ordained in the Church of England. He is also the author of the notes and appendixes of The Companion Bible and the author of numerous works including Commentary on Revelation, Great Cloud of Witnesses, How to Enjoy the Bible, and Number in Scripture.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Supernatural Design and Spiritual Significance of Numbers in the Bible, November 5, 2007
By Corey "Truth Seeker" (Columbus, IN USA) - See all my reviews
"As for God His WAY is perfect" (PS.xviii.30). "The Law of the Lord is perfect" (Ps. xix. 7). "They are both perfect in power, perfect in holiness and righteousness, perfect in design, perfect in execution, perfect in thier object and end, and, may we not say, perfect in number."
E.W. Bullinger

It makes since does it not? If the words that God uses are perfect then why not the numbers? Thus, we have this monumental study by E.W. Bullinger. This book is broken into two sections, the first section examines the supernatural design of the Bible. The second section examines the spiritual significance of numbers. However, this book isn't just about numbers, it is an example of the beautiful accuracy and the infallability of God's perfect Word. The Bible flows in perfect harmony from the beginning to the end. After reading this book, never will you view the Bible as nothing more then just an "Old Book" written by religious zealots that collects dust on your bookshelf. Nor will you view the Bible as having no relevance in today's "modern" world. You will begin to see it as it really is, and that is, PERFECT!!!

The Witness of the Stars

Book Description
In a work of profound interest to students of Christianity and astrology alike, E.W. Bullinger uses astronomy, celestial charts, and quotations from the Bible to make his case for the existence of God's Word within the movements and configurations of the stars themselves. Beginning with proof in Psalm 19 that "the Creator both numbered as well as named the stars of heaven," Bullinger interprets each of the Twelve Signs of the Zodiac as they relate to biblical prophecy, arriving at some interesting-and controversial-conclusions. British clergyman ETHELBERT WILLIAM BULLINGER (1837-1913) was one of the most respected Bible scholars of the 19th century. He is author of numerous works including Commentary on Revelation, Great Cloud of Witnesses, and How to Enjoy the Bible.

Figures of Speech Used in the Bible: Explained and Illustrated

Book Description
Bible translators have, through inattention to figures of speech, made serious translation blunders, clouding the real meaning of many important passages of God's Word. E. W. Bullinger's volume, first published in 1898, clarifies 217 distinct figures of speech used in the Bible. Walter C. Kaiser, dean of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, calls it ''the best handbook on figures of speech. It should be on every exegete's shelf.'' In systematic order, this classic gives the proper pronunciation of each figure of speech, its etymology or origin, and a number of Scripture passages where the figure of speech is used, giving full explanation of its use in each context. Figures of Speech Used in the Bible cites nearly eight thousand Bible passages and includes five appendices and seven indexes, making it even more valuable as a reference tool.

About the Author
E. W. Bullinger (1837-1913) was an Anglican clergyman, secretary of the Trinitarian Bible Society, and editor of the journal Things to Come. He wrote ten books and numerous booklets. His Selected Writings were published in 1960.

Are the Scriptures truly the word of God? Can they be trusted? "Yes!" declares Bible prophecy expert Grant Jeffrey, and these two bestsellers he amasses an amazing quantity of evidence to demonstrate it. The Signature of God argues that God has indeed revealed Himself in the pages of the Bible through a staggering number of divine proofs: the incredible precision of prophecies fulfilled, ancient inscriptions that validate the Exodus events, the name of Jesus encoded in the Old Testament, and much more. In The Handwriting of God, Jeffrey unveils the truth about the controversial "Bible codes" while revealing new code discoveries hidden in the Scriptures. Throughout, he shows that though the Bible was written thousands of years ago, it still speaks reliably and authoritatively to modern man. Comprehensive and convincing, this two-in-one collection is a must-have for every concerned believer.

This book is monumental in scope! Although there were some repetitions - the book is otherwise awesome in explaining the hidden secrets God has just now revealed - like the Bible Codes. I found that Mr. Grant's archeology information to be extremely direct and interesting. His arguments as to both - why the Bible is the inspired work of God; and as to why Jesus of Nazareth is who He said He was (the Son of God) are simply "right on the money"! This book by Jeffrey R. Grant actually made me wonder if Mr. Grant's book is inspired by God! Mr. Grant is surely God's Servant - so perhaps it is? Any thinking person who "digests" the information in this book after praying for God's grace - will be a believer! I'm reading it for the 3rd time now!

From Time Immemorial: The Origins of the Arab-Jewish Conflict over Palestine

5.0 out of 5 stars Hired to write propaganda, wrote the truth, September 25, 2001

Joan Peters, a professional writer and researchers, received a grant from an Arab Foundation to write a history of the ancient roots of the Arab population in historic Palestine. The problem was that, when she actually began doing her research, she found that most of the common beliefs about the long history of that population are just inaccurate. In fact, she found that the majority of the current population descended from waves of migration beginning in the 19th century and peaking in the early 20th.

Peter's uses considerable primary source data, including the ottoman and British censuses and the travel journals of western visitors like Mark Twain, all of which prove that the area compromising modern day Israel and the West Bank were largely unpopulated in the 19th century and experienced waves of immigration from people looking for work. Even more controversial, she documents the existence of ancient Jewish communities on both sides of the Jordan River, in places like Jerusalem, Gaza, Hebron, Safed, Nablus, and others. Sadly, many of these communities were forced to flee Arab violence at the turn of the century. Thus Hebron, which has boasted a continual Jewish community for over 2,500 years, had no community between 1930-67 because the Jews had to flee for their lives.

Arieh Avneri's Claim of Dispossession: Jewish Land Settlement and the Arabs 1878-1948 adds considerable documentary evidence to this thesis and is also worth examination.

A History of the Jews

Amazon.com
Paul Johnson says that writing A History of the Jews was like writing a history of the world "seen from the viewpoint of a learned and intelligent victim." Johnson's history begins with the Bible and ends with the establishment of the State of Israel. Throughout, Johnson's history is driven by a philosophical interest: "The Jews," he writes, "stand right at the centre of the perennial attempt to give human life the dignity of a purpose. Does their own history suggest that such attempts are worth making? Or does it reveal their essential futility?" Johnson's history is lucid, thorough, and--as one would expect of almost any project with such a broad scope--a little wrong-headed. By the end of the book, readers will be grateful for Johnson's questioning of the Jews' confidence in their cosmic significance. However, readers may also be a little annoyed by his energetic inquiries as to whether this significance was man-made or providentially provided. Either way, it's a given: for a historian of Israel, this should adequately settle the question. Johnson's 600-page history is probably the best we've got by a living gentile--which is no small accomplishment at all. --Michael Joseph Gross

From Publishers Weekly
Less a seminal contribution than a distillation of a wide range of sources, this history of the Jews focuses on their four-millennia interplay with, and adaption to, other, often hostile, civilizationsa "world history seen from the viewpoint of a learned and intelligent victim." Weaving biblical and archeological data, Johnson (Modern Times and A History of Christianity is particularly deft at placing the patriarchs and early Israelites (the Bronze Age through the destruction of the First Temple) in their historical context. His dense, somewhat arbitrary, capsule extols Judaic rational scholarshipwhich contributed to ethical monotheism and the 18th-century economic system, in turnand denigrates mystic kabbalah"heresy of the most pernicious kind." Although Johnson, who seeks to acknowledge "the magnitude of the debt Christianity owes to Judaism," traces "an inherent conflict" between the religion and the state of Israel through the various ages, the work is incontrovertibly sympathetic to Zionism. The Fingerprint of God: Recent Scientific Discoveries Reveal the Unmistakable Identity of the Creator (New Edition)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Changle to the religion of Evolution., August 15, 2002
By Richard D. Cappetto (Moodus, CT United States)

Its funny, If you believe that a God (or intelligent force) created the universe you are called religious. Yet if you believe the Theory of evolution (micro evolution) you are called scientific, even though it is not proven or even a theory by the scientific definition (Read God and The Astronomers by Robert Jastrow an agnostic if you don't believe micro evolution is a religion). To be a theory it must be testable and it is not. I think Dr. Ross does a terrific job of showing how science can be reconciled with the Genesis account of creation. Without losing ones credentials as a scientists. Also this book though highly scientific is written in a way that is very easy to read and understandable for the non scientists out there like me. I would hope that everyone who has doubts and questions about the Genesis creation account would have an open mind and give "The Fingerprint of God" a read.

Fingerprint of God: Recent Scientific Discoveries Reveal the Unmistakable Identity of the Creator

5.0 out of 5 stars Sound and rich perspectives on cosmology, November 21, 1999
By Aquinatis (Paris)
(I am reposting this review, because the email address was wrong and it did not show up on my review page.)

Ross, an astrophysicist, deals with cosmology using the physical, theological and sometimes the philosophical sciences in a well documented book. The first part of the book deals with the ancient cosmologies, the Greek and medieval philosophers, and the rise of astronomy/physics in the 16-17th centuries. Then Ross explains the consequences of Kant's deism, in particular his view of the universe as uncreated and infinite. The first part ends with the recent physical observations at the end of the 19th century (refuting Kant's view); and special and general relativity, with their theological consequences due to the singularity (begin of time and space.) Ross does a good job, but is sometimes weak (e. g. about the modern rejection of theistic arguments: he never mentions the real problem: the rise of nominalism and skepticism.)

The second part deals with 20th century physical cosmologies and how all alternatives to the Big Bang had to be empirically rejected and how much the awesome evidence for the Big Bang accumulated. Here Ross is at his best. He also points out the atheistic motivations of those who tried to avoid the Big Bang. Most of this is excellent, he has also good insights on Quantum physics. However a few passages are unsatisfying, as his simple dismissal of Tipler's anthropic principles or his arguments against quantum originations of the universe (my impression is that he lacks philosophical depth, and this is problematic when he deals with design or quantum cosmology.) Those interested in apologetics will have to find complements in the writings of William L. Craig, Chris Isham, etc.

The third and last part deals with theology, I found it excellent. Ross defends a concordist position, and refutes also both fundamentalism (Young Earth Creationism) and liberal theology. His chapter on evil has many insights. His "gospel acccording to the creation" seems however naive, it seems obvious that there are many humans in many cultures who never come to such conclusions by simply thinking about nature.

I highly recommend this book. Those who may find it difficult can read Ross' more popular book Creator and Cosmos, which has less structure and is easier to read. To those who, on the contrary, want a more advanced book (dealing with physics and philosophy) I can recommend Craig's Theism, Atheism and Big Bang Cosmology.

Prophecy 20/20: Profiling the Future Through the Lens of Scripture

Book Description
Dr. Chuck Missler's Prophecy 20/20 is a comprehensive, easily digested book that will give you a basic understanding of how past events fulfilled biblical prophecy. It provides a strategic grasp of prophecy that equips you to clearly see the "prophetic moment" of current events. Chuck Missler, founder of Koinonia House, analyzes trends on the geopolitical and technological horizons as well as their implications for the coming years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enthusiastically Encourage Wide Distribution of This Book...., September 19, 2006
By Encompassed Runner (Florida, USA)
The brilliance of Missler's PROPHECY 20/20 is in its organization--rather than take a past, present, future approach, Missler first peruasively presents prophecy as a testable authenticator of God and the Bible (rather than speculation), then examines the fulfillments of prophecy past, skips the present to review prophecy future, and only at this point returns to analyze prophecy present, geopolitical trends and events. This approach is ingenious because of the logical progression built in the reader's mind, since upon reaching Missler's final section "Prophecy Present: Where Are We Now?," the reader has already developed confidence, even awe, in the Bible's prophetic track record plus he's been informed of the ultimate destination of God's prophetic plan, so that when the author hits the reader with 160 pages of geopolitical/current events point after point, the reader readily recognizes how so much of the stage is set for the coming tribulation and Second Coming that it's hard to imagine forestalling these events much longer. Specific prophecy topics covered include Israel, the Book of Daniel, Hermeneutics (interpretation), the Abomination of Desolation, the Great Tribulation, the "Harpazo" (rapture), and more common prophecy themes, but they are covered in a nontechnical manner that's clear, biblical, and exciting, making this a great book for gift-giving or an entry into prophecy book. The book does not get bogged down in scripture or external citations, but for documentation and further study employs footnotes detailed in the book's 13 pages of endnotes. As for the current events topics, they include WMDs, struggle over Jerusalem, Islam, Turkey, the rise of Asia, the European Union, energy, technology, the ecumenical movement, and more. Though this book can build the interest and understanding helpful for academic study of prophecy, in itself it is not an academic, seminarian type book, yet it's not of the other extreme seen today--sloppy, sensationalistic newspaper pop prophecy. PROPHECY 20/20 is the passionate yet responsible culmination of Missler's years of honed teaching ministry to the laity.
