Beauty Pageants
My daughter and I started pageant when she was 6. She has competed in numerous pageants, to include both natural and glitz. We prefer the natural pageant because of the fact that we can focus on the natural beauty that was given to us. The dresses are great but a winning smile and sparkling eyes are what these are all about. The glitz pageants are more about the attitude and sparkle of the outfits. Money is the game in glitz pageants! The more money a mom spends on sparkle the better the chances for a big crown and title. After 3 years of pageants, I feel that if a child has the courage to go a stage and be judged by a panel, then they are all winners in life! In life we are judged by everyone we see and meet. This includes the clothes we wear, our attitudes, and everything else you can think of! Pageants are not for every child but you never know until you try one. Look on the web to find local pageants!

What Is A Beauty Pageant Anyway?
A beauty contest, or beauty pageant, is a competition based mainly on the physical beauty of its contestants, although such contests often incorporate personality, talent, and answers to judges' questions as judged criteria. The phrase almost invariably refers only to contests for women; similar events for men are called by other names and are more likely to be "body building" contests. Winners of beauty contests are often called beauty queens.
