My Squidoo Place

I created this lens and a new blog Thoughts of a Squidoo Lens Author to keep everyone updated on the best Squidoo resources out there, to share some of my lenses, and to share some of my favorite lenses by others.

How can you become a Squidoo lensmaster if you're not one already? Click on Join for Free at the top of this page and make your own lens.

The First Step? Create A Squidoo Lens of Course

Squidoo is a great place to find out what people are searching for. Would you like to see if your chosen topic is hot, set up a Squidoo lens. It doesn't cost anything, and it's a great way to test the google search waters. If your lens gets tons of traffic, you can point it to your future website or blog. The bonus is Squidoo tells you what the search terms are that bring people to your lens. This will help you know what to incorporate in your site.

Squidoo is a great place to let people know what your passion is. Let the world know it if you love lemons! Create the best darn lens about lemons.

To get off to a great Squid start:

Add at least 4 modules(Amazon, text, eBay, Link List, to name a few) to your lens, and add content to them.

E-mail your lens to your friends and family, be proud of what you've created.

Beware Squidoo is addictive, once you create a lens, you will have to create more!

My Squidoo Blog: Thoughts on Being A Squidoo Lens Author

I set up Thoughts On Being A Squidoo Lens Author as a place to post my thoughts on being a Squidoo lensmaster, help new lensmasters learn the Squidoo ropes, and to interact with other Squidoo lensmasters and bloggers, and to draw the attention of others to some of my favorite lenses. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I have.

My 3 Favorite Books

This is tough! I love to read, and usually whatever I'm currently reading is my favorite. I love fiction, and non-fiction, how to's, mysteries, romance, everything!

When I applied to be a Squidtern, I had to list my three favorite books, very difficult for me, but I narrowed it down and got as close to three as I could.

I should probably include something educational, or inspirational but... I had to go for fun!

Gives Janet's take on writing and life. I read this book from cover to cover the day I got it. I love her writing style, and enjoyed seeing her thought processes, tips, and examples from her books.

About My Lenses

OK, these are my own lenses below, but I kept it to my favorites.

The Virtual Garden is near and dear to my heart, I love to garden and be in touch with the Earth.

Big Brother TV is for my naughty side. I love Big Brother, every year I say I will not get involved the next year, but I've loved it since the first season. I've had a blast keeping my lens updated, and blogging about Big Brother this year. Thanks to everyone who's visited, the lens is a huge success!

I set up the Missing Children in Ohio lens as part of a Squidoo contest sponsored by Tiffany Dow. Please check out the Missing Children Lens, and the other lenses attached to it. You never know when something you see there may save a child's life.

Girls Night In was one of the first lenses I created, and it was just for fun. I was planning a party with a few friends, and couldn't find many resources online, so I thought I'd create my own.

Linette's Virtual Garden is a collection of my lenses, blogs, and other online ventures. Check it out and let me know what you think.
