Become an Affiliate
Because first, it's so easy to get started and you hardly need any startup funds. (At the very least, it's best to invest in your own domain name and hosting for a blog.) The simplicity is that you can earn commission checks promoting other people's products.
Secondly, you don't have the hassle of creating your own products, writing super sales pages, delivering/shipping products or providing customer service. Need I explain further why the opportunity is so great?
Watch over my shoulder as I go through an awesome affiliate training program. And decide for yourself if you should become an Affiliate. Read below...

Why you should become an affiliate and how to start...

I would have to say from my own personal experience of marketing online, there have been many wonderful resources that have helped me immensely on learning how to market and make money online.
For this reason I was quite excited to hear about Jimmy D. Brown's New training program for affiliate marketing, "Affilaitenaire"
I signed up this morning and have already read the first lesson. He's offering some great bonuses for those in training. Each week he's going to send me a new lesson with a simple assignment that only takes 1-3 hours to complete.
What I really like about this program is that it's not overwhelming. He's leading students by small steps and all the while training and offering valuable information that will be used for years to come.
I wasn't surprised at all by the quality of Jimmy's first lesson. I've purchased many of his products and he always delivers above my expectations. I just can't wait until my next lesson comes next week. I'm planning to add some updates here each week on my progress.
To be quite honest, there is not another internet marketer online that I could recommend more!
Can you take any college class cheaper than this? I think not. It's definitely worth the investment.

The first lesson was really easy to understand and so encouraging me to take some immediate action. Affiliate Training, Week 2, Lesson 2
Completed!
I received my second week's affiliate training lesson early this morning. At 14 pages it didn't take long to read, yet it was easy to follow. My weekly assignment is already completed. This could take a newbie anywhere from 1-2 hours. This week has to do with the "The Quick and Easy Affiliate Setup - Blog." Again, Jimmy doesn't leave beginners in the dark. He gives some clear step-by-step illustrations and options for setting up your new blog.
For any "Affiliates in Training" who has signed up under me, send me a DM at Twitter if you need any help with this step.
TIP: You can get FREE Blog Installation Here.
NOTE: Jimmy's Affiliate Training Program is currently closed for new members. Yes, 1,000 members are now in training. But, bookmark this lens or sign up at Affiliatenaire to be alerted when new openings are available.
Affiliate Training, Week 3, Lesson 3
The Quick and Easy Affiliate Setup - List (Completed!)
I really enjoyed this week's lesson the best so far. I've been working online for quite awhile and I still learned a new valuable tip. This week's lesson focused on options for building your list. He offered three types of lists that would be beneficial to use for your affiliate business. The assignment took me about 30 min. It was really easy to do after being offered several ideas.
What I love above Jimmy D. Brown's lessons are that he never leaves you clueless. He offers plenty of ideas and advises you what works best from his own experience. He's also been offering videos to help beginners with some of the steps required in setting up your affiliate business.
With this week's lesson, an additional supplemental lesson will be provided a day or two later. So, I'm looking forward to receiving it soon.

Affiliate Training, Week 4, Lesson 4
The Ultimate Way to Get Buyers
This week's lesson was around 20 pages. As an added update, there will be a video tutorial for this step arriving in my email within 24-48 hours.I was thrilled with this lesson which is next to the last of the preliminary steps to get everything set up where soon I can begin to see positive results and soon see some affiliate sales rolling in. I believe next week's lesson will sum things up to get started.
Jimmy offered some easy tips and ideas on filling your blog with content. For those who hate writing, don't worry! He offers some easy ways to get content without any writing on yourself.
For those who are already familiar with Private Label Articles, check out my favorite, top quality PLR Sites ~ Click Here
This week's lesson will take some time if you choose to write your own blog content. However, if you decide to use some of the other options that Jimmy offers, it shouldn't take more than an hour or two.

Your Ready-Made Promotion Publications
This lesson is the last of the basic setup ones before we're ready to get started on promoting our site. This lesson will cover "How to publish an Issue of Your Newsletter in 60 Min. or Less." *Jimmy also covers the 7 basic components of your newsletter.
Indeed, it look me only an hour to get my newsletter written up. Jimmy provided a copy & paste template to follow. So, this was a really big help. It's nice to get these added bonuses....receiving unexpected surprises makes the learning process really fun. lol

Affiliate Training, Week 6, Lesson 6
The Affiliate's Best All-Around Promotional Tool
This week's lesson is the start of online promotion, which is my favorite online activity.Jimmy covered...
"3 things every affiliate should do weekly"
Plus, some smart tips in helping you write ezines articles. He outlays a basic template to follow as you write your articles. He offers some great tips that will save you time.
My assignment took me exactly an hour. I started at 10:21 p.m. and finished 11:21 p.m. This is actually faster than my past article writing ventures, but I hope to get my time down even more by following the tips given to me.
My assignment also required to me submit my article to some article directories. This was longer and more tedious. There are some time-saving alternatives to submitting your articles, but I decided to do it myself. It took awhile to update my profiles and establish some new accounts, but the next time will be much easier as I have everything set up now.
I definitely see progress....and I am more focused!
An informational ebook gets read, then gets lost somewhere among your files, and soon you've even forgotten what you read.
With weekly lessons coming my way, I'm staying on track, keeping focused and motivated. By far, I'm progressing more than from any ebook that I've read.

(Hint: It's not by spamming forums with ads) He also offers some great tips on creating a great signature link.Checked my traffic stats today: After starting this traffic generating technique my traffic results have almost doubled from the daily average.

How to Choose the Best Affiliate Programs for Your Blog or Website
Are you overwhelmed trying to decide which affiliate programs are right for your online business? In order to choose the best ones, use this easy checklist of 10 attributes to look for when choosing appropriate affiliate programs:1. Choose Affiliate Programs that will complement your current site's niche and will target your visitors' interests.
First, start by gathering a list of potential products and services that you feel would complement but not compete with your current services and products. Using an affiliate program promoting "pens" might be the perfect complement to your "stationery" website and should not conflict with the sales your own products.
2. Choose Affiliate Programs with a good web design.
Once you visit a potential affiliate company website for review, quickly evaluate the web design. It doesn't necessarily have to be the fanciest site on the web, but if it's very poorly done or looks very cheap, you're going to have a hard time earning commission on sales. Also, take into consideration whether the affiliate site has easy-to-read lettering, easy-to-view colors, and a well-proportioned layout that is not overly crowded or confusing.
3. Choose Affiliate Programs that offer good commissions.
If the affiliate site passes the web design test, take a quick peek at their affiliate program overview. Do not choose affiliate programs that do not state what they are going to pay you or that are merely interested in offering their pretty graphics to make your site a little lovelier. I've seen far too many affiliate companies boast about what value they can add to your site and what lovely graphics they have to offer you. This is a business issue not a web design enhancement!
Affiliate commissions need to be high enough to have a good return for your investment (ROI). To know 100% sure if you're getting a good return, you will have to do some testing. In most circumstances, the little measly 5% and 10% commissions will hardly cut a profit for you after spending money on marketing.
Look for at least 20% or more on commission levels. Many ebook affiliate sites will offer you a good 50% share on commission; however, 30% can be considered a good commission on an ebook of high quality especially if it fits your niche perfectly.
4. Choose Affiliate Programs with easy navigation and checkout features.
Their sales will be low if navigation is difficult or their checkout is confusing. Test everything out by hunting for some specific items and doing a starter checkout to see how many clicks it takes to get to the final payment area. Statistics show that the more clicks required to checkout often results in a larger percentage of shopping cart abandonment.
5. Choose Affiliate Programs offering reasonably priced items and shipping costs.
The company doesn't need to offer the "lowest" priced items on the internet. It does; however, need to at least be reasonable. Some companies will try to price their items really low and then tack on high shipping costs. So, make sure to check out the shipping costs as well. I've abandoned my shopping cart quite a few times after the shock of discovering that my shipping costs were almost as much as the items I was ordering.
6. Choose Affiliate Programs run by companies that also offer good customer services.
Take time to click the contact button and ask some questions about their products. See how long it takes to get an actual response from the company. If it's a company that you've never heard of before, do a feedback checkup on your favorite search engine by typing in the company's name. Look especially for some forum comments. People often chat about their good or bad experiences with related companies. Even purchasing a product yourself can be to your advantage so that you can testify on the quality of the product, the quick shipping, the wonderful customer service experience and more.
7. Choose Affiliate Programs by companies whose products or services are not overly saturated on the internet.
If practically every blog and website is promoting that same affiliate program, try seeking something a little more refreshing and new. Of course, if it's an affiliate program that is overly promoted but really fits well with your niche and you really like it, by all means, use it. Nevertheless, be sure to add some other affiliate programs as well that will offer you a chance to earn some commissions easier without the overbearing competition.
8. Choose Affiliate Programs that offer customer promotions.
Check to see if the affiliate company offers their customers seasonal promotions or other promotional discounts. This is a company who understands marketing and benefiting from repeat sales. If they have a newsletter, sign up to see what kind of offers they send to their customers. If they're doing well on marketing themselves and not just depending on affiliates for sales, then this company may be a really good candidate for you.
9. Choose Affiliate Programs offering good tracking tools.
Keeping an eye on statistics is important for affiliates. If the company also offers tracking cookies which are set for a period of time, you will have even a greater advantage since most visitors do not buy on their first visit. A 60-day cookie
means that the your affiliate company has tagged your visitor with your referral link. If they come back any time within 60 days, you will still receive commission even if they do not come back through your affiliate link.
10. Choose Affiliate Programs offering affiliate training, newsletters, promotions, graphics, text ads, articles, additional support and more.
A good affiliate company will treat their affiliates well by offering them bonuses from time to time and additional promotions to motivate them to earn even more commissions. At the very least, make sure you are paid in a timely manner. No company is of complete perfection, yet, if you find that a company is frequently delaying payments or offering other excuses for not paying you, then move on to a company that will appreciate your talents more.
As a final note, there is no complete failproof guide to choosing the perfect affiliate programs for you. Only performing tests from your actual affiliate promotions will help you decide which ones are bringing you the best results for your business. Keeping these guidelines handy; however, should help eliminate some wasted time and money and help you succeed in choosing ones that are worthy of your time.

Recommended Affiliate Programs - Become an Affiliate for Vitabase
Category - Health
Vitabase Get's Our Seal of Approval and Here's 10 Reasons Why!If you're in the ever-so-popular health niche, then you will want to check out Vitabase. The reason they have won my stamp of approval on "Top Affiliate Programs" is that they care about their affiliates.
1. They offer a great commission.
At 25% commission who could complain? They offer 25% commission on all their own products and 10% on all other brands. They do promote their own products first, so no need to worry that you'll end up with more 10% commissions than 25%.
2. You earn 25% commission every time your customers order through you!
What a great way to build residual income! When their vitamins are gone your customers will want more right? Vitabase stood up to the plate and readjusted their affiliate program so that their affiliates could earn 25% commission every time they order through them -- not just the first order. Many affiliate programs lack in this area.
3. They offer a dropship program.
If you're worried about lost sales or just want more control on building your online business, then dropshipping might be perfect for you. Just be aware you'll have to be a bit more involved than with the more simple affiliate program.
4. They offer incentives
In the real work world, businesses motivate their employees by offering incentives. Vitabase hasn't forgotten to motivate their affiliates as well. I've earned a few extra dollars just for adding their link on my page at HealthyHomeGuide.com.
5. They offer a tool to build customized links.
This is a really great asset! You can't get any better than this with an affiliate program. If you're writing a post about "children's health" then you would do better promoting a link directly to their children health products or even better -- one specific product such as "children's multivitamins" rather than just sending your visitors to their home page. This will definitely help with higher conversion rates. (Hint: This means more sales and money for you!)
6. They have an affiliate program director.
What's so great about that? Too many companies are simply posting up an affiliate program and letting their affiliates defend for themselves. I emailed the director, Kenneth Davis, and he responded in a very short time. He was polite and very helpful...and, I'm brand new as far as getting involved in their affiliate program.
7. They don't have ads plastered all over their site.
My number one pet peeve for affiliate programs are ones that plaster Google ads and other banner ads all over their site. Who wants to send visitors to another site so that they can get credit for Google adsense or other affiliate programs that you don't even belong to.
8. Their prices are reasonable.
Some merchants hike up the price super high so that they can earn a high profit and still pay their affiliates too. You have to be sensible, though. You need an affiliate program with a merchant who has reasonable prices. Your potential customers are going to look else where if the prices are outrageous.
9. They offer incentives for customers.
How many sites have you seen that offer an incentive for only first time customers? Not Vitabase. They offer "VitaRewards" where customers earn points for their purchases and redeems these points for credit on some more products. They also offer "Today's Deal" to keep customers coming back for another visit. Another great tool to help you generate more sales, indeed! A couple of other ways they entice returning visitors and customers is their $5 dollar deal and Health Tools.
10. Their Affiliate Program is FREE.
Yes, most affiliate programs are free, but often to start your own health business online with a direct sales company you would probably have to invest in a starter kit or some type of fee to become a consultant. So, if you can at least start a blog and chat about health, you have great opportunity to start your own affiliate business at home.
Any downside at Vitabase?
[UPDATE: Vitabase Now Offers a Second Tier Affiliate Program! Good Going!]
I guess my one regret would be that there is no second tier program. Some affiliate programs offer around 5-10% commission by referring other affiliates. You won't find that at Vitabase, nevertheless, I'm surely giving them my stamp of approval for "Top Affiliate Programs" online.
