Avoid Stealing Another Ventriloquist's Show!

Yes, this happens often, and usually turns out to be very non-beneficial for the theif. This is become you must tailor your acts to the personalities of you and your dummy. If you usually do comedy skits, it would be hard to pull off a stolen dialogue of a down and dreary ventriloquist act. That is not to say you can not have variety in your own dialogues, but they need to fit your character, and not someone else's.
Start Free On Getting Your Big Break
Begin your professional ventriloquism career by offering free services. If your dialogues are more geared for children, place ads in local classifieds to do performances at birthday parties and schools. If you are wanting to focus on more mature ventriloquism, speak with comedies clubs and bars in the area.
