Steps to Becoming Fit and Muscular
Just like the fellow in this photo (2008 picture of Vince Del Monte, author, bodybuilder & fitness coach), a muscular and fit guy is great eye-candy for the ladies. A buff, muscle-massed man makes a character statement when he walks in the room...a statement that says he considers fitness, health and wellness to be one of his top priorities. And guess what? That guy COULD be you!
All too often, I come in contact with skinny guys who really want to build muscle, but it just isn't happening for them; or I'll be in line at the store and hear an average fellow whining about his scrawny gene pool. When this happens, I feel like telling them becoming muscular isn't in a magic pill or potion - its a dedicated process forged from the depths of a decision to make it happen!
Anyone can bring their "scrawny" into submission and defeat it with the proper fitness methods that will transform both their muscles and their mindset. All you have to do is want it ... work towards it ... build that muscle mass. Going from scrawny to muscular is all in the 'how to'.
It's All in the MUSCLE-BUILDING PLAN, Stan!
When You've Tried Just About Everything ...
WHEN IT COMES to realizing what does NOT worked when you try to get muscle mass on your own, I automatically think of my son-in-law. Yep, I'm one of those proverbial mother-in-law's who feel destined to help everyone in their family with something, even a son-in-law. But I mean well ... and its only because he needs A LOT of help. = )Being a holistic health-care practitioner, I'm automatically interested in exercise and fitness, and have many tidbits of advice I can offer. However, that means little to a fellow like my son-in-law "Joey" (fictitious name used to preserve the righteous indignation I'm sure to get anyway...but especially if I use his real name). "Joey" is married to my eldest daughter and has tried many ways to build bulk, gain muscle mass and become the "hunk" he wants to be.
My Son-in-law's latest venture is with martial arts, which is a great way to gain and improve flexibility, core muscle strength and enhance self-esteem but it doesn't cut the mustard when it comes to bulking up and getting those firm, 6-pack abs Del Monte has. Go on ... look at the picture again. He's definitely worth a second glance, isn't he? If I were a younger gal, I'd be swept off my feet and then some!
As to my dear son-in-law; he's spent lots of time and dollars trying to get the muscle mass he lacks. He's used various supplements including, but not limited to, whey protein isolate powders; worked out on a home gym of sorts; did some weight-lifting; went to the gym and lucked out, there, and now the martial arts 'try'.
Is he buffing up? Ah, no. Gaining weight? Ah, nope. Increasing his muscle mass? Sorry, but no.
Is he still underweight? Yep. Still on the scrawny side? You betcha. Still wanting what he hasn't yet achieved? Absolutely. Which brings me to why he needs some help from Mr. Vince.
The Challenge
Choosing the Right Program

AS I'VE ALREADY MENTIONED, gaining significant muscle mass requires desire, dedication and the precise knowledge of "how-to" go about it.
Most people have the desire starting out, and a good number become dedicated...to a certain point - that point being a time in the not-so-distant future when there is no visible progress.
Although gaining muscle is a relatively straight forward process, the challenging part is gaining the right knowledge and choosing to have the self discipline to do what is needed to achieve what you want. But more importantly is having the self discipline coupled with the right coach.
Building muscle comes from training, not just supplements or quickie fad programs. Gaining muscle mass is hard work, and getting eye-popping abs like the fellow in the 2nd picture (Del Monte once again) is the product of a dedicated and precisioned process.
So just when might a guy or gal looking to increase muscle and get a ripped, 6-pack see results? Del Monte promises some hefty results in as little as 6 months! Can you confidently make that same promise to yourself?

WANNA SEE MY STICKY NOTE of one of Del Monte's favorite, homemade recipes for good-tasting, nutritional snacking?
Great to take to the gym as a post-workout treat or just to eat between meals, this snack packs in the calories. When you are trying to gain weight many of you really need calorie-dense foods. These chocolate treats have it all. = )
Try it... I did; it was actually yummy and - oh, my gosh - is that my bicep pumping up, already!?!?
