My husband and I decides to become debt free in Feb of 08. We are just sick and tired of paying the bank every month any not having much left over. When we started we had over 100k in debt ( cars, credit cards, and student loans) besides our house.

I follow Dave Ramsey teachings to a point but his basic idea is to get out of debt you need to stop using debt and put all extra money in a month towards debt. And believe it or not this really works. Through out the book he has success stories to help keep you motivated.
