The land our house sits on was originally cleared by Garner Rix after he returned from being captured in the Royalton Raid. He was just 13 years old when the town gave him this land. We can walk out to the cellar hole where his house stood or hike up to the mill that Garner Rix built. Our Bed and Breakfast was built from wood that came from our land and cut into timbers and boards in Garner Rix's saw mill. Hike through the woods to the bridge that Garner Rix built over the brook to see the water fall and along the stone walls that formed the boundaries of his sheep farm.

I'll have to give the name some thought before I can comment on that - but I can say that your long front porch looks so inviting - I could sit and rock and knit there for hours, I believe.
