Beds For Indoor Cats

Hi, I am the Female Human who was graciously adopted by Patches several years ago. She lets me think that I'm in charge on most days. You all know me as BevsPaper around here and I'm happy to be the typing fingers on the keyboard for Patches as she shares her shopping trip with you.

We share our home with two cats currently. Patches who is being featured here and a gray tabby we call Chessie. They give us much joy and love and keep us in giggles on most days.

Once upon a time in the not so distant past a pregnant cat was abandoned by some mean humans near a rental property that the Owens family owns. Terry (Dad) has a huge heart and once he found my mother cat with us three little babies hiding in that rental he convinced Mom that we needed some help. "At least until the babies are big enough to be weaned, Bev", Dad said. "They barely have their little eyes open! Mother and babies are starving!"

So, Dad brought us home and Mom fell in love. I immediately decided that I wanted to live with these two humans forever. So, I went right to work purring up every ounce of cuteness I could muster in my little body. I'll admit that I didn't play fair. I wouldn't let my little brother and sister get too much attention, I wanted it all for my own feline self. It didn't take long for me to have those two humans wrapped right around my paw.

My brother, sister, and feline Mother were placed with other loving families but I made it very clear that I had adopted Bev and Terry and I wasn't going anywhere.

There was much discussion over what to call me after I had won their hearts over with my antics and feline cuteness. They finally settled on Patches as my name. It isn't really very original for a Calico cat, but humans aren't nearly as creative as us cats, ya know. A little "catty" of me isn't it?

Mom loves quilts and one day she said as she used those great feeling hands of hers to pet me, "The patterns of her fur kind of look like a Crazy Quilt. Little patches of fur all mixed together to create a most unusual pattern." Dad chimed in and said, "Let's call her Patches!"

They didn't see me roll my little kitten eyes! I don't really care what they call me as long as they don't call me late for dinner! Food and cat naps are my favorite things in life!
