The Tales of Beedle the Bard - The Fictional Version

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a plot device in Deathly Hallows, the 7th novel of the Harry Potter series. This book, described as a popular collection of wizarding children's fairy tales, was bequeathed to Hermione Granger by Albus Dumbledore. It is an ancient-looking small book. Its binding are "stained and peeling in places". The novel Deathly Hallows described the book as having a title on its cover, and written in embossed runic symbols..

The Tales of Beedle the Bard - the Handwritten Version

Rowling JK wanted to thank six people who worked very closely with her on the 'Harry Potter' series. Wanting to give them a gift from her heart, she conceived the idea of writing them a handwritten and illustrated
book each.

So Rowling wrote seven copies of The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Each book was bound with brown Moroccan leather and decorated with silver ornaments and semi-precious stones. The books got different stones each. Then, six books were given to the people most involved with the Harry Potter series. The seventh copy was put on auction to raise funds for the Children's Voice charity campaign.

The seventh book was sold off to the winning bidder for £1.95m last year. The bidder was none other than the online giant store, Amazon.com. Amazon will produce a maximum of 100,000 copies of The Tales of Beedle the Bard - Collector's Edition. A Standard Edition (hardcover) of the book is also produced to ensure enough books for fans of Harry Potter from all over the world.

If you are a fan, do pre-order immediately, especially if you want to own the Collector's Edition. Once all the 100,000 copies are sold, I think its price will increase tremendously. So pre-order now by clicking this link The Tales of Beedle the Bard, Collector's Edition. If you prefer the The Tales of Beedle the Bard, Standard Edition, get them fast. The books will only be released on December 4, 2008.
