Beef And Broccoli Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 lb beef sirloin sliced thinly across the grain
• 2 cups chopped broccoli
• 3 tablespoons cooking oil
• 1 tablespoon finely minced garlic
• 1 teaspoon cornstarch
• dissolved in 1 tablespoon water
• 3 cups water (for blanching)
• FOR THE SAUCE:
• 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
• 1 teaspoon rice wine
• 1 tablespoon soy sauce
• ½ beef cube dissolved in ½ cup water
• FOR THE MARINADE:
• 2 teaspoon soy sauce
• 2 teaspoon rice wine
• 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
• 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

1. Marinate the beef by combining the marinade ingredients in a bowl for 20 minutes.
2. In another bowl, combine ingredients for the sauce. Stir well and set aside.
3. In a pot of boiling water, blanch the broccoli for about a minute. Remove broccoli and soak in ice water for 10 seconds. Drain excess water and set aside.
4. Heat a wok and pour the cooking oil. Toss in the marinated beef and cook for a minute.
5. Flip beef to the other side to allow cooking and toss the garlic. Cook for 1 minute.
6. Pour in the sauce and bring to a boil.
7. Add in the broccoli and cook for another minute.
8. Stir in the cornstarch, which is diluted in water, and cook until sauce is thick.
9. Serve.
